So what is the "summer of open source"?

The full name of "Open Source Summer" open source software supply chain plan-Summer 2021, is a summer activity for college students jointly organized by the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the openEuler community. It is an open source project development activity specifically for college students , Aims to encourage school students to actively participate in the development and maintenance of open source software. The organizer cooperates with major open source communities to provide project tasks for the development and maintenance of important open source software. Students apply for projects based on their interests. After the selection, they will develop under the guidance of community mentors and contribute the results to the community. According to the difficulty and completion of the project, students will receive 6000 , 9000 , 12000 yuan project bonus . Excellent contributors who have completed the SOFAStack community project can get ant push opportunities (Many outstanding engineers from the ant middleware team are open source community contributors who have been dug up 🤫)

Since the launch of the summer 2021 project mission activity, many open source communities have enthusiastically registered. The community registration deadline on May 20th, a total of 109 communities at home and abroad have registered, and 877 open source project missions have been launched. Among them, the SOFAStack community has launched 9 project tasks, including cloud computing, cloud native, distributed systems, microservices middleware, front-end and other combined project tasks. The open source projects involved include: JRAft, SOFA-RPC, SOFA- Registry, SOFADashboard, SOFATracer, there are medium and high-level tasks of different difficulty to choose from.

Application time: May 24th - June 13th

STEP 1 : View the project task list, the tasks you are interested in. You can register your account in the registration system on the official website at the same time.

STEP 2 : Get in touch with the corresponding mentor on the tasks of interest, communicate clearly the needs of the project, and discuss the project plan with the mentor.

STEP 3 : Write the project application, and submit the project application and personal resume in the registration system.

STEP 4 : The results of the selection will be announced on June 30. Under the guidance of the instructor, the selected students will develop in July-September as planned.

STEP 5 : Complete the development and receive project bonuses and certificates.
