New Chinese Course: Assist educators in teaching Android application development

We strive to open up Android development content to the public so that everyone can become an Android developer. Over the years, in order to improve their own skills, millions of learners of different levels have used our learning content and completed courses and Codelab learning. As the industry continues to change and develop, we are also continuing to update and release new content.

With the growing demand for skilled Android developers in the job market, we increasingly need educators to train the next generation of Android developers. To this end, we provide the following resources to support the work of educators and help them enhance their teaching capabilities.

A new instructor-guided course on Android development using Kotlin

We launched a new instructor-guided Chinese course on the use of Kotlin for Android development This is a classroom learning course (online or offline), instructors will teach important Android concepts, and students will conduct practical exercises through Codelab. The official course materials have now been released, and lecturers can freely modify these materials according to the needs of students.

This course is a major update based on the course we released in 2018. From the release of Android Jetpack library to Android development to Kotlin first, these updates reflect the latest changes in the Android platform. Kotlin programming language can simplify syntax and enhance code security, thereby helping developers improve work efficiency. Kotlin is a programming language recommended by Google for new developers who build Android applications. At present, more than 60% of professional Android developers have begun to use this language. Although the instructor does not need to have Android or Kotlin experience in teaching this course, it is recommended to have previous programming experience.

We have established cooperation with many universities and many skilled partners around the world. They are the first institutions to teach this course to students this spring. In this fall and the next few semesters, more universities will join the ranks. This course is now publicly available, and educators are welcome to start teaching Android development courses.

This is mainly a practical course, students need to learn programming to achieve, which will help them find a job in a mobile application company.
