Today, openEuler Developer Day 2021 with the theme of "creating the best OS, making us better" was successfully held in Beijing. Dear guests, developers and friends,

good morning guys! It is a great honor to participate in the openEuler 2021 developer conference. Today, I am delighted to see the conference online and offline, gathering the participation and attention of many openEuler developers. The convening of the conference today is of epoch-making significance for the development of China's open source community. From the data on the participation of developers in the global open source community, China's open source contribution has been recognized globally. With the development of open source in various fields, China's open source community is expected to grow into the world's top developer community. Here today, as a supporter of the open source community, I will discuss and communicate with you in the same mood. Here are some of my views on open source:

First, China is currently a big open source country, but it is not yet a strong open source country.

Open source software ("open source") emerged in the 1980s and benefits the world. Today, open source technology supports more than 90% of Internet products and has penetrated into 96% of commercial applications. Especially in the field of new-generation information technology, the contribution rate of open source software in all software has exceeded 80%. The ratio of employees engaged in software and hardware in this field is about 8:2. From this estimate, the contribution of open source to the business of this type of enterprise The contribution rate can reach more than 60%. It is no exaggeration to say that in the current world, whoever embraces open source embraces the future of information technology.

Although my country's open source construction started relatively late. However, it is worth noting that this year's "open source" was clearly included in the outline of the five-year plan for national economic and social development. It can be seen that the country has affirmed and supported open source at the strategic level. At present, the number of people actually participating in open source development in my country is second only to the United States. However, in the past, due to the lack of actively initiated open source projects and organizations in our country, we are a big open source country, but not yet a strong open source country. The convening of the conference today enables us to actively face the forefront of world science and technology and face the forefront of world industries, and give full play to our talent and The market advantage has enabled China to move from a big open source country to a strong open source country.

Second, openEuler is a model of China's open source community.

As mentioned above, open source has become the leading model of global software technology and industrial innovation, especially an efficient way to accelerate basic software innovation and strengthen social collaboration. We should encourage related companies and open source people in my country to deeply participate in and lead the development of the global computing industry through the open source model, and promote the sustainable development of the entire industry chain through the community governance model of "co-construction, sharing, co-governance, and win-win".

Today, the release of the openEuler community is of special significance in the development of China's open source industry. As you can see, this open source community, created by leading companies such as Huawei and contributing a large amount of source code, has integrated the leading companies in the field and related partners for the infrastructure of the information field of the operating system, and has joined the world. Open source workers work closely together. OpenEuler has been open source for more than a year, and has achieved rapid construction from code open source to industrial ecology, and has achieved large-scale commercial landing with partners. The rapid development of openEuler proves that through open source, attracting industry chain synergy and common development in the form of a community is an effective way to promote technological innovation, industrial development and ecological construction. The openEuler community has developed into a very influential community in this field in the world, and its technical level, scale, and operating model have reached the international level of similar communities. Practice has shown that relying on China's huge human resources and super-large-scale market advantages, China can also produce top-level communities that conform to the laws of the industry and connect with the world. While promoting the development of our country's science and technology, we can also make important contributions to the world's open source community. openEuler has created a precedent for the Chinese open source community, and we expect that more and more communities like openEuler will emerge in the Chinese open source community.

Third, China collaborates with developers around the world to build a global community with a shared future for science and technology.

Open source has become the cornerstone of technological applications and the digital development of the industry. Supporting open source and developing open source will be an effective way for my country to achieve technological innovation and breakthroughs. It is a new business model and new model for establishing a global technological community and promoting open and coordinated development. As my country has gradually formed a pattern of "you in you and you in me" in the world's open source field. Open source is not only a spirit of technological inheritance and development and innovation, but also a culture of openness and sharing.
