After the cloud hard disk is successfully purchased, it will be billed according to the capacity, regardless of whether it is mounted or not and how much capacity is used. For example, if you purchase a 100GB cloud hard drive and only use 40GB, you will also be billed at 100GB.

When your cloud hard disk is no longer in use, for example, the data in the cloud hard disk is no longer needed, the cloud hard disk has bought the wrong available area, etc. You can refer to today's small class for processing to avoid waste of resources.

Next, each step in the process will be explained in detail.

Step 1: Check whether there are important data in the cloud hard disk.

If the data stored in the cloud hard disk is more important, you can first make a cloud hard disk backup through the CBR service or make a mirror image through the IMS service to save the data. Corresponding fees will be charged for both backup and mirroring.

When data needs to be restored, just create a new cloud hard disk through backup or mirroring, and the capacity of the new cloud hard disk must not be smaller than the source cloud hard disk.

Cloud hard disk backup: Cloud hard disks can be created in the same availability zone or across availability zones. Use cloud hard disk backup to create a new cloud hard disk. When configuring the cloud hard disk information, you can select any available zone under this area.

Data disk mirroring: Cloud disks can be created across regions or accounts.

Cross-region migration: Make the data disk in region A into a data disk image, copy it across regions to region B, and then use the data disk image to create a new data disk in region B.

Cross-account migration: Make the data disk of account 1 into a data disk image and share it with account 2, and then account 2 uses the data disk image to create a new data disk.

After the important data is backed up/migrated, or there is no important data, you can proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Delete/unsubscribe cloud hard drive

Please uninstall the cloud drive before deleting or unsubscribing.

For cloud disks that are billed on-demand, you can delete them directly. Cloud hard disks stop billing after deletion.

The method to delete a single cloud disk with on-demand billing is as follows:

If you have multiple on-demand billing cloud drives to be deleted, you can delete them in batches: select multiple cloud drives in the cloud drive list and click the "Delete" button at the top left of the cloud drive list.

For cloud hard drives with annual and monthly subscriptions, you need to unsubscribe. The annual and monthly subscription is a prepaid model. If you unsubscribe from the cloud hard disk before the expiration, the refund amount = actual order amount-consumed amount-unsubscribe handling fee.

The method for refunding an order for a monthly and monthly cloud hard drive is as follows:

If you want to unsubscribe multiple cloud disks with annual and monthly subscriptions in batches, the method is as follows:

1. Go to the "Expense Center> Unsubscribe and Return> Cloud Service Unsubscribe" page.
2. In the unsubscribe list, select the resources that need to be unsubscribed, and click "Bulk Unsubscribe" in the upper left corner of the list.
   
   Note: The annual and monthly cloud hard disks purchased with the cloud server are bound to the cloud server and need to be unsubscribed as a whole.

Q: What is the cloud hard disk purchased with the cloud server?

A: System disk: All system disks are purchased with the cloud server.

Data Disk: When you are purchasing a cloud server, the data disk purchased by "adding a data disk" on the basic configuration page of the cloud server is called the data disk purchased with the cloud server.

Step 3: Whether to put in the disk recycle bin

Currently, HUAWEI CLOUD has launched the disk recycle bin function, which is free to try during the public beta.

After the disk recycle bin is turned on, when you delete the cloud hard disk, you can choose not to delete it immediately, but to save the disk in the recycle bin to prevent data loss due to misoperation. The disk in the recycle bin can be stored for up to 7 days, and will be completely destroyed if it expires.

When the disk is saved in the recycle bin, you can restore the deleted disk from the recycle bin. Cloud hard disk snapshots do not support recovery. For more information about the Recycle Bin, please click Disk Recycle Bin .

Cloud hard disk snapshots and cloud hard disk backups are both important means of backing up cloud hard disk data. Among them, cloud hard disk snapshots are currently in the public beta and can be created for free. Cloud hard disk backup is created through cloud backup CBR, and corresponding fees will be charged.

When the cloud hard disk is successfully deleted/unsubscribed, the corresponding cloud hard disk snapshot will also be deleted at the same time; unlike the snapshot, the cloud hard disk backup and cloud hard disk data are stored separately and will not be deleted with the cloud hard disk. If you no longer need the cloud disk backup, you need to manually delete the repository and backup copy. After the deletion is successful, the cloud disk backup will stop charging.
