Windows 11 official announcement, support for Android APP for the first time, new application store mechanism to compete with Apple

At the Microsoft Build 2021 conference held at the end of May, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that he is testing the Windows system, which will be the most important update of Windows in the past ten years.

On the evening of June 24, Windows 11 was officially announced. In addition to the interface update that was leaked not long ago, Windows 11 also integrated Microsoft Team, released a new Microsoft Store, and more importantly, introduced Android applications to Windows for the first time.

UI interface redesign

Windows 11 simplifies the interface design and user operations, using the new "Start" key and taskbar, the icon is centered.

In addition, the new generation of Windows systems also introduced a new snap layout, snap group and virtual desktop functions to help users easily access all applications and perform multitasking. Users can more easily organize windows and optimize screen space, view content on demand in a clean and tidy layout, and can also create virtual desktops individually and customize them according to their preferences.

Integration of Microsoft Teams, Widgets returns

Windows 11 integrates Chat based on Microsoft Teams technology into the taskbar, providing a new way of interpersonal connection. With Microsoft Teams, users can connect directly from the desktop to the people they want to contact. Whether on Windows, Android or iOS platforms, users can communicate with all their contacts in real-time through typing, chatting, voice or video, at any place, on any platform or device.

Windows 11 also showed the return of gadgets. Its newly launched Windows Widgets is a personalized prompt function, driven by AI and the powerful Microsoft Edge browser. Users can use Microsoft Edge and many small components to quickly and timely learn about news, information and entertainment content.

The new Microsoft Store supports Android applications

Windows 11 has launched a new Microsoft Store, which is faster. Users can explore and discover applications, games, video programs, movies and other content more conveniently.

But Microsoft's ambitions don't stop there.

Its brand-new payment mechanism allows developers to bypass Microsoft’s payment mechanism, which is Microsoft’s zero commission. Developers can also use Microsoft's payment mechanism to list apps and games on the Microsoft Store. Microsoft's commissions are 15% and 12%, which are far lower than Apple's App Store.

In addition, Microsoft announced the introduction of Android applications to Windows. Later this year, users will be able to find Android apps in the Microsoft Store and download them through the Amazon App Store.

Nadella said: The platform can only serve society if it allows basic innovation and category creation. Because of this, Microsoft introduced a new store business model and strategy to support more apps on Windows, including Android apps.

Free upgrade, available later this year

In addition to the highlights introduced above, Windows 11 has also carried out a series of optimizations for the touch screen, and improved the Windows PC gaming experience, supporting users' favorite PC gaming accessories and peripherals. Through Xbox Game Pass for PC or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, players can access more than 100 excellent PC games at any time, as well as other new games that are constantly being added.
