Hello everyone, I’m Card. Stay up late and I’ll be the dog. Song.

My workstation is next to the gate and the men’s lounge, so I can observe all the students entering and leaving the lounge.

Over time, I found a very interesting phenomenon, I call it byte male lounge volume .

This article is my analysis and thinking on the causes of this phenomenon.

Note: The following content only represents my point of view, I am a naive, keyboard gods don’t care about me

Rolling in the lounge

Byte's lunch time is 12 noon. Everyone usually eats lunch at 12:30 and digests food. Some male students will choose to take a nap in the men’s lounge.

There are three sofas that can lie flat in the lounge:

同款沙发

Since the number of male students is far greater than the number of sofa, so some students in order to seize the sofa, will give up digestion time, advance into the lounge sofa seize resources.

As the competition gradually heated up, a small number of students further accelerated their meal speed in order to seize the sofa.

Are these classmates really resting on the sofa? Not at all. They moved their digestion time to the rest room.

Those who were full and wanted to walk lay down and did not dare to get up, and those who were struggling with their sleepiness did not have a sofa to sleep.

So far, it is still involuntary within the scope of everyone's understanding, but...

Deteriorating competition

I don't know which day it started, and gradually some students entered the lounge at 12 noon.

As mentioned earlier, the opening time of BYTE is at 12 o'clock, so the students who entered the lounge at 12 must have not had lunch.

What kind of person would take a nap without eating lunch? It might be:

  • Breakfast late
  • Staying up the night before, too tired

Obviously, classmates with a normal schedule (lunch at 12 o'clock) can't compete with this group of classmates no matter how fast they eat.

Gradually, the lounge was occupied by classmates who stayed up late the night before and worked overtime.

pissed off!

Annoyed to anger, one day I suddenly thought: The original intention of the company to provide the lounge is to serve which part of the students?

It doesn't matter if you don't think about it, as soon as you think about this issue, the direction of the next thing will gradually become outrageous.

Who are the people who are still at work after 8 o'clock in the evening?

Since the fact before us is: the classmates who stay up late and work overtime occupy the lounge sofa.

Then we started our reasoning company 160e72109b7576 providing a lounge to facilitate students who stay up late and work overtime

According to my observation, most students go to work in the morning from 10 to 11 o'clock. We assume that the classmates who stay up late go to work at 11 in the morning.

This hour from 11 to 12 o'clock is obviously still in a state of awkwardness caused by staying up late, so there is a high probability that this hour will be spent fishing.

At 12 o'clock, due to the late breakfast and staying up too sleepy, I will go directly to the lounge to make up for the rest. At 2 o'clock in the afternoon, I will officially start the day's work.

Since the whole morning was left unused, he needs to spend the evening to make up the unfinished work, so he will probably continue to work overtime and stay up late.

When there are more and more students like this, it will cause a phenomenon:

Everyone is still working in full swing after 7 o'clock in the evening

If you are a classmate with a normal schedule, when you prepare to get off work at 7pm, you may see the high overtime atmosphere around you, which may be affected and postpone your off work time.

But your work has been done, so what are you doing? Go fishing.

So the brightly lit work area after 7pm may consist of the following:

Some people who stay up late to catch up with work + some people who catch fish + some people who are really working

It can be seen that this form is very inefficient.

Is capital encouraging inefficiency?

Since it is inefficient, why does the company set up lounges, gyms, overtime taxi reimbursement, and free midnight snacks?

Have you found out? These measures seem to hope that employees will stay in the company after 7pm.

After dinner, I went to the company gym for free group class and fished until 9 o'clock. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a late-night snack and take a taxi to be reimbursed from get off work?

Doesn't this encourage inefficiency? Why did capital do this?

What does capital care more about

This leads to another inference: Capital doesn't care about inefficiency.

Imagine a programmer doing an activity page, even if the work efficiency is low, as long as the activity goes online on time, there is no blame.

For a large company, the benefits of a single activity page may be in the hundreds or tens of millions. Not to mention events like 6.18 and Double 11.

Due to the nature of the diminishing marginal effect of Internet communication, individual inefficiency (employees fishing) can also bring overall efficiency (company makes money)

Since capital doesn't care about inefficiency, what do they care about?

Care about no one to work for him.

Hit the circle of workers' fate

Imagine a hard worker. His struggle experience may include:

  • Worked in a small factory for a few years
  • Jump to Dachang
  • Jump repeatedly between big factories
  • Experience in a startup company
  • Optimized by large companies

There are different positions for the workers (junior to intermediate, to senior, expert, director), but they are constantly running around this circle.

This is , the fateful circle of .

Capital hopes that the workers will always move around in this circle. Because in this way, the company can pick up people from the circle to work for itself as needed.

If big companies give more, they can give priority to the better ones.

Small companies have low wages and can only carry the surplus of large companies.

But anyway, as long as someone does the job. I am afraid that there are fewer and fewer people in this circle, so companies will have to pay more in order to grab people (higher wages).

So, what big companies care about is:

Workers cannot break out of the circle of fate, they can only move around in the circle and progress under the promotion rules set by them

How to get out of the circle

In the movie 1942 , there is a fragment:

During the escape, the landlord played by Zhang Guoli said to Chang Gong: "give me another ten years, your uncle, I am still the owner."

The difference between capitalists and workers is that they have more information and know how to use the information gap for their own profit.

And information is obtained by communicating with people.

A senior designer can go out and do it alone, and the money he earns from picking up customers is much higher than getting paid in the company, so why doesn't he go out and do it alone?

Because he didn't know how to do it, no one told him how to do it.

So when is the best time to socialize? Ask yourself based on your feelings: When are the big guys talking about business?

It's after 7 o'clock in the evening

Therefore, when capital deprives workers of the time after 7 welfare 160e72109b7c4f, it is:

  • Deprive them of time to think
  • Deprive them of time to communicate
  • of the possibility of jumping out of workers’ fateful circle 160e72109b7ccb

Face yourself

When you are led by PUA , HR : "996 is the norm, either accept or go away."

Ask yourself: Am I really so unbearable? Or did they deliberately suppress me when they discovered that I was trying to break out of 's fateful circle

Don't let others define yourself easily. You must be down-to-earth and look up at the stars. Your journey can really have the stars and the sea~
