WICC 2021 is all "new" unveiled! Gathering industry, academia and research forces to navigate the future of communication cloud

On July 24, the 3rd Global Internet Communication Cloud Conference (WICC 2021) was held in Beijing Park Hyatt Hotel with the theme of "New Vision · Connecting the Future".

As the organizer, "Rongyun", a leading global Internet communication cloud manufacturer, set up a morning summit forum and three technical sub-forums in the afternoon. The conference attracted elites from all walks of life in the industry chain to join. By focusing on cutting-edge communications cloud technologies and applications in hot areas such as AR, VR, MR, AI, and edge computing, it provided a "realistic navigation" for the future development of the communications cloud industry.

This year's WICC has gathered technical leaders from many industries including Tributary Technology, Akamai, Telstra, SenseTime, Litchi, and Obtaining Scene Video, as well as experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Tianjin University, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. . Together with the thousands of developers who came to participate in the event, they built a complete industrial ecological exchange platform for industry-university-research.

Strengthening academic elements is a prominent feature of WICC 2021. The conference invited Sun Lifeng, a long-term professor of the Department of Computer Science and Technology of Tsinghua University, Dr. Zhang Xinggong, an associate professor of Peking University, Wang Xiaofei, a professor of the Department of Intelligence and Computing at Tianjin University, and Li Xiaodong, a researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Based on the cutting-edge academic achievements in their respective fields, the four professors brought "Internet Audio and Video Services: From AI Empowerment to Wisdom Endogenesis", "16K Immersive Video Technology", and "Edge Intelligence and Cloud in the 5G Era" to the conference. The technology sharing of "Side Collaboration" and "New Progress in Communication Acoustics", the realization of these technologies will release unlimited potential for the development of the communication cloud industry under 5G and make future communication scenarios ubiquitous.

All four professors believe that Rongyun hosting WICC is of great significance. In addition to experts and professors from institutions of higher learning and scientific research institutes, the conference also invited Xu Fanlei, deputy general manager of iResearch Institute, to give a speech on "Scenario Driven—Insights into the Development of Communication Services on the Cloud". In terms of developer service ecology, Rongyun co-founder and CTO Yang Pan delivered a keynote speech at the summit forum on "Exploration of Developer Service Ecosystem with Communication as the Core", sharing Rongyun’s comments on developer service ecology for developers think. In his speech, Yang Pan analyzed the status quo of the domestic developer service industry, the analysis of developer needs, and the construction of the Rongyun developer service system. He pointed out that China’s developer service industry is still in its early stages. With the increasingly fierce market competition, labor costs will continue to rise. In terms of the specific practice of service developers, this conference set up three technical sub-forums around audio and video technology and its scenario-based solutions, namely: "Network Transmission and System Architecture", "RTC New Technology and Application" and "Scenario-based empowerment and innovation". The lecturers brought their own core technology and best practice sharing from different technical fields, different dimensions and different scenarios.

The three technical sub-forums were wonderful, the lecturers' insightful explanations were highly recognized by the developers, and there were frequent interactions on and off the stage. In addition, developer interaction sessions such as sign-in quizzes, games, and luncheons also attracted a large number of developers to stop and participate.
