Nervos launched a new series of interviews: "Meet Dev" , to introduce the story of the Nervos community and team developers, so that community partners can meet the most authentic Nervos. This is the second issue. We invited the founder of the Nervos ecological project UniPass, the founder & CEO of , the county magistrate 1612ca525be817, to learn about his journey in the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency😋
Q1: How did you start the Crypto journey?
In 2017, we can be regarded as "escape" from the Internet to Crypto World.
Since we started our business on the Internet in 2012, we have been doing traffic-related businesses. Although it can make money, we are very clear that this is only eating industry dividends, and will eat less, unless we can rely on products to occupy a place in the ecology. We have never given up looking for a track that can accumulate our own users, and we have tried many directions with our own funds, but most of the easy roads are blocked, and the difficult roads are also crowded with teams like ours. Fight hard. a lot of tuition fees, we reflected that 1612ca525be8ab can no longer sail in the Red Sea. We must see a possible blue ocean, take root a few years in advance, and be prepared before the outbreak, so that we can truly gain our own position.
Later, we discovered the world of encryption, a place where there are not many users but great value has been created, a track with high requirements for technical depth and product capabilities, and then we knew we were in the right place.
Q2: What do you think is the most important area for improvement in the blockchain industry? Why did you think of developing UniPass?
is its user-friendliness. currently has a high threshold for blockchain applications. This is because many underlying details have not been hidden, and users are required to understand and operate themselves. The most typical is the process of creating an encrypted wallet. In fact, ordinary Internet users can manage the commonly used passwords of two or three accounts. Once it comes to the blockchain application, in addition to the password, there are also mnemonic words and garbled addresses that cannot be remembered or recognized, plus I have to reinstall an app every time I use a variety of different chains and wallets. I was almost dismissed when I was an Internet entrepreneurial veteran when I first entered the circle, let alone ordinary users?
In fact, the Internet is not as convenient and easy to use as it is now. Since its birth in 1969, it was not until 1993 that the first web browser with a graphical interface appeared. For more than two decades, everyone used the command line interface "Internet surfing", and only professional users and geeks would use it. On the Internet, is it very similar to the current blockchain products? Following the birth of the graphical operating system, the popularization of broadband networks, and the explosion of mobile Internet, every step is to hide details and lower the threshold for users. If there is no touch-screen mobile phone, many parents who can't type may not become Internet users in their lifetime. Now they have fun using Douyin and chatting on WeChat.
This is why we developed UniPass, so that more people can enter the blockchain world. No one can come in, and all the rest is empty talk.
Q3: The Chinese of UniPass is a universal passport. How will it empower the concept of "universal passport"?
First, we will split it up, one is "universal" and the other is "passport". A passport is easy to understand, and it refers to an identity, an account, and a subject that can identify and confirm assets; then, where does "universal" mean it can be used? I think there are two parts:
One, Web2 and Web3 common
This is the first step, because the best account for users is the one they are already familiar with, which is an email address. UniPass's ability to use mailboxes as encrypted accounts makes the login experience of Web2 and Web3 unified for the first time. Users can use UniPass to log in to their existing websites in the same way as WeChat login or Google login. The difference here is that other accounts belong to their respective platforms, while the UniPass account only belongs to you; you can use UniPass to log in to the Web3 application, but other accounts cannot.
Two, different Metaverse general
The "Metaverse" here actually refers to all scenarios with virtual world attributes, such as online games or encrypted communities, as well as different public chain ecology. With the openness brought by the blockchain, different Metaverses can share the same world state and public knowledge, and UniPass is the first step to get through from the point of account and identity. With UniPass, users' assets and reputations in different Metaverses can be registered and verified on the same "passport", and users will truly appreciate the characteristics of the open Internet: identity and value will no longer depend on the platform , And only related to myself.
Q4: What kind of spirit do you think you need to have as a blockchain practitioner?
is compared with the Internet, I think it is more necessary to "stick to it" in the blockchain industry. This is the same as what we often hear in the circle of "don't speculate, but value investment, look at the long-term". The industry has a cycle. If you see that the industry is going up, you rush in and start doing it, and when you find it goes down, you will withdraw your stall, then you will not accumulate anything, except for an unreliable reputation; on the contrary, you really see the value , Only the teams and projects that stick to the front line can capture the great value through the cycle and achieve real success.
In fact, in addition to the industry level, it is also very important to "stick to" when actually doing things. The main manifestation is that you should not rush to conclusions when you encounter problems and hit a wall. This industry is still very new, and some subconscious rules may not be broken. Ask the big cows in various fields, maybe you will find new ideas. In this process, the most important thing is not to give up the pursuit of a function or experience, but to keep it in your heart, "If you don't forget, there will be repercussions."
Q5: What is the current state of you and your team? Is there anything interesting to share with you?
Our team is called " Thunder Rabbit ", so we usually call team members rabbits , and the office is called rabbit nest . At present, we have a total of ten rabbits, four in the nest, and six in China. Every quarter, if conditions permit, we will organize a centralized office, so that everyone can spend ten and a half days together with each other to improve Understanding and understanding.
Speaking of interesting things, we have to mention our team’s live treasure- Stitch . Stitch comes with a lot of stalks, such as being particularly afraid of bugs, such as loving a bowl of rice for others (mainly for our CTO strong brother), such as playing table tennis with his own lucky buff and so on. Recently, there have been more rabbits in the team, and meetings have become more frequent. As the computer in the conference center, Stitch has a poor radio reception, so he took out the dusty "Little Bee" wireless microphone to connect to the computer, but everyone often gathers. When he had a meeting behind him, he had to put the flaky wireless microphone on his head to become a ruthless omnidirectional radio head.
I am ashamed, but I should be blamed for not doing my job properly, because the lack of equipment has caused Stitch to use his body to bear such responsibilities. So I'm currently thinking about buying him a hairpin, so that I can better fix the little bee, and I don't need him to keep his neck stiff 😄
