5.0 (White Poplar) Roadmap

5.0 (White Poplar) is our latest next-generation antd-mobile component library under development. After nearly 5 months of development, it has covered 48 components and has been used in many projects.

We recently released the alpha version of the npm package , and also deployed the new document site . Frankly speaking, antd mobile 5.0 is not mature enough, but we hope to push it to all students in the community as soon as possible. We also hope that the entire R&D process and planning conform to the spirit of open source as much as possible: transparency, openness, and cooperation.

So, in order to help everyone better understand version 5.0, here is a brief share of our ideas and directions.

5.0 What will it bring

Visual norms

Consistent with the v3 v4 version, v5 will also follow the latest version of Alipay’s basic design specification Alipay Design .

Gestures and animation

v5 uses use-gesture as the gesture library, and react-spring as the animation library, with smoother and more delicate gesture interaction and animation effects.

Redesigned API

All components of v5 are completely rewritten, and the API is also redesigned, which is more modern and elegant.

Embrace css variables

The css variable provides a more dynamic style adjustment ability, and also makes the style adjustment of the component more concise and elegant. It is very painful and very difficult to maintain the component style magic change in the business. We hope to change this situation through css variables.

Release plan

These milestones are only our rough plan, and may be adjusted as the project progresses.

Alpha

We released the first alpha version on July 12, and after more than a month of continuous iteration, the API has gradually stabilized.
