Many people would like to use the command line copy method to migrate data during the usual server, disk or file system data migration. This method may seem convenient, but in fact there is a hidden risk of data loss.

Cloud backup-doesn't it sound like backing up data? Data can be restored when data is lost. But I don’t need the backup function~

No no no! The function of cloud backup is very powerful. Although the main profession is backup and recovery, it actually has a good performance in data migration. With cloud backup, you can achieve same-availability zone migration, cross-availability zone migration, cross-region migration, cross-account migration and even cross-cloud migration.

Same zone migration

If you want to quickly have two identical disks, servers or file systems in a certain availability zone, or just want to change a disk or a server, you can quickly have happiness in two steps~

1. Make a backup of the target resource. First buy a repository and tie up the resources, and then make a backup, it’s OK~
2. Use the backup to create a new disk, create a mirror and then create a server, and create a new file system. The available zone selection is the same as the current available zone. The data in the new resource is consistent with the backup time point.

In this way, you can have two same resources in the same Availability Zone~

Migrate across Availability Zones

Suddenly I found that the disk and file system I bought are not in the same usable zone as the server, which greatly increases the delay and affects the experience of use. What should I do?

Of course, you can use cloud backup to quickly create a resource of the same type across availability zones, and switch directly and smoothly~

The steps are the same as those of the zone migration. You only need to select other zones when creating resources~

Cross-regional migration

Want to move resources between different regions? Do you want to own the server area B of area A?

Cross-account migration

Cloud backup supports the sharing of backups between different accounts in the same area, which makes it possible to migrate resources between different accounts in the same area.

Currently, only server backup and disk backup sharing are supported.

Migrate across clouds

Cloud backup supports synchronous offline backup and storage of backup data in OceanStor Dorado arrays and VMware virtual machines.

When an event such as a data center-level disaster or fiber network failure occurs, cloud servers can be quickly created on the public cloud by backing up data, reducing business interruption time. At the same time, the backup data can be copied to other regions as needed to achieve rapid business deployment on the cloud.
