In accordance with the requirements of the domestic "Information Security Level Protection Requirements", the international "Sybanes Act" and other industry regulations, listed companies/government departments/financial institutions must build remote disaster recovery systems. However, the company’s self-built disaster recovery center solution requires self-built or leased computer rooms/cabinets, which involves software and hardware procurement, installation, and commissioning. The initial investment is large and the construction period is long. Compared with the traditional solution, you can choose the cloud as one of the remote disaster recovery sites, use the elastic resources on the cloud, pay on demand, reduce the initial investment by more than 70%, and shorten the construction period by 50%.

Huawei Cloud Backup CBR (Cloud Backup and Recovery) supports VMware backup to the cloud. It can provide a simple, easy-to-use, machine-granular backup function for the VMware virtualized environment in the user's data center, and synchronize the backup to the cloud. Many people think that it is difficult to backup to the cloud, but it is not. Today, I will take you to get a general understanding of how to use cloud backup services to complete VMware backups to the cloud.

Step 1: Install eBackup image template

Cloud backup can realize VMware backup to the cloud through eBackup. Therefore, you need to obtain the eBackup image template from the console first, and download it locally to complete the installation.

1. Log in to the management console. Choose Storage> Cloud Backup> Hybrid Cloud Backup> VMware Backup.

2. Select the "Image Download and Installation" tab. Under the "eBackup Mirror Template" column, click "Click to download" to complete the eBackup mirror template download.

3. Before installing and configuring eBackup backup software, you also need to understand the software's network connection requirements and suggestions, so as to successfully complete network planning.

1. Log in to the management console. Choose Storage> Cloud Backup> Hybrid Cloud Backup> VMware Backup. Complete the purchase of a cloud backup repository.

After completing the purchase, you need to write down the AK and SK of the HUAWEI CLOUD account, the ID of the region where the cloud backup repository is located (for example, Beijing Fourth is cn-north-4), the project ID of the region, and the ID of the cloud backup repository. .

Step 3: Create a VMware backup and upload it to the cloud
