D2 Frontend Technology Forum (Designer & Developer Frontend Technology Forum, referred to as D2) is a global frontend technology forum hosted by the Alibaba Frontend Committee. It is determined to build a platform that promotes industry exchanges and leads the development of the frontend field. At present, D2 has been successfully held for 15 sessions, providing developers and designers in the front-end field at home and abroad with an opportunity to discuss the development of the industry together, meeting friends with technology, and sharing the fun of technology together.

Last year, due to the impact of the epidemic, we met with you in the cloud for the 15th D2. Although we were unable to communicate face-to-face, the live broadcast brought our love for the front-end together 💞.

For D2 this year, we made further attempts on the basis of last year: not only live broadcast on cable, but also a small and beautiful offline venue with 200 people.

We are scheduled to hold our event in the form of 6 special sessions in series on the two days of December 18 and 19, 2021 in Hangzhou Ant A Space and the online live broadcast room. So that everyone can read all the content in two days, harvest full knowledge, and gain more growth🌾.

This year, based on the concept of "strive for excellence, experience creativity", we expanded the topics to 6 sessions, and put more emphasis on the improvement of front-end "experience and efficiency", hoping to bring excellent topics at home and abroad to everyone. Let's take a look at what special sessions are available this year!

Language and framework

In the D2 language and framework special session in 2020, we invited Ben to explain how to quickly refactor and rewrite RxJS code, and Ujjwal talked about how the standardized TC39 organization works.
In recent years, as browsers have become more powerful and JS/TS languages have become more abundant, the front-end ecology has also flourished, and the status of "front-end er" in the R&D link has become more and more important. The front-end intelligent application, combined with the browser's IoT interface, is wild and mind-blowing; React's useState concept is also popular, allowing functional programming to quickly enter the toolbox of many "front-end er", and front-end test coverage 100% rate is not a dream; there is also a new JS compiled language rescript that kills disturbing'any' types...
For this year's language and framework special, we will invite the currently popular Rescript author Zhang Hongbo without'any' types, tensorflow.js developer ping, and many big cows in the circle to share with you the vibrant front-end ecosystem .

Cross-end technology

The development of cross-end technology continues to be in full swing. Behind this is the logic that consumer Internet businesses cannot escape traffic. At the same time, small programs have found another way. The challenges faced by such large front-end developers are becoming more and more difficult. At this time, we can’t help feeling "Dare How can we get out of the "cross-end impossible triangle" and find our own answer under the "efficiency, quality, and multi-end" triangle? This D2 cross-terminal technology session will invite technical experts in this field to discuss the future of cross-terminal technology, re-examine the development of Web technology, and bring you new ideas about cross-terminal R&D solutions.

Front-end experience

As the implementer of human-computer interaction, the front-end is also the closest research and development to users. Experience has always been our indispensable responsibility. Although various front-end technologies continue to develop, the ultimate pursuit of experience has always been our original intention. From performance, stability, fluency to interaction efficiency, satisfaction, etc., experience is both detailed ability and system engineering. How to give The user's optimal product experience is the basic proposition that the front-end faces together, and it is also the most direct manifestation of the value that technology can give users.
This year's D2 front-end experience special session, let us focus on experience, return to our original intention, combine specific business practices, technical exploration, and work with front-line technical experts to exchange front-end development and experience in the experience direction.

Low code

In 2014, the research institute Forrester Research formally put forward the concept of "low code". Entering 2021, with the disappearance of the Internet demographic dividend, the intensification of competition in the domestic cloud market, and the sudden new crown epidemic, the wave of corporate digital transformation has accelerated again, and this involves the construction of a large number of enterprise-level middle and back-end systems, and the middle and back-end technology fields are experiencing A revolution in R&D efficiency led by LowCode/LCDP/LCAP.
On the one hand, low-code research and development models are becoming more and more popular. On the other hand, we also see that low-code technology is not a panacea. Research on low-code technologies has gradually entered the deep water area, such as natural layout, logical arrangement, and models. Drive, smart wizard, hybrid R&D...
This session will invite first-line technical experts currently active in the low-code field to discuss the current development, innovation, change and future of the low-code R&D model.

Node/Serverless

Serverless, as a new type of Internet architecture, has directly or indirectly promoted the development of cloud computing. With the continuous improvement of the Serverless system, the boundary of the entire front-end development has become larger, and the perspective of future front-end developers will be broader, whether it is The current full stack is still edge computing, AI, 3D, etc. The front-end will use the combination of Node.js and Serverless in different fields. What kind of changes will this bring to the entire industry? How do we use it based on our own business scenarios to maximize the value of Serverless?
This special session will invite first-line technical experts to share relevant technical practices, bringing you more thinking and experience reference.

In the traditional concept of the Internet industry, the main task of the front-end is to build user interaction interfaces for various network services in the form of pages. In recent years, with the development of language frameworks and cross-end technologies, the front-end boundary has been widening around the core proposition of experience interaction. The applicable scope of the technology extends from general Internet services to localized applications such as office collaboration, industrial manufacturing, games & multimedia; the application execution environment extends from browsers to web containers, native applications, and IoT devices; The human-computer interaction model has gradually mixed elements of artificial intelligence from deterministic scripts.
Diversified scenes broaden our horizons, and at the same time, they are constantly tempering our understanding of the nature of the front-end. This year's D2 front-end diversification special session will continue to uphold the concept of "technology without boundaries" and invite technical experts with colorful directions and styles to present the infinite possibilities of the front-end and explore the infinite value hidden therein.
