Open source technology has developed rapidly in recent years, and has gradually become the mainstream in many emerging technology fields. While participating in international open source projects and following mainstream open source technologies, Chinese companies have begun to initiate original open source projects and gradually explore the possibility of leading open source. The assessment focuses on four aspects of open source project community construction, security and stability, project health, and project influence. It involves 12 categories and 47 specific indicators, providing an auxiliary reference for enterprise users to choose open source software.

One is community construction. examines whether open source projects have the basic conditions for continuous operation and healthy development from the dimensions of complete documentation and specifications, and stable versions.

second aspect is security and stability. examines whether open source projects have complete security risk awareness from the dimensions of project vulnerability handling mechanisms and open source license compliance.

third is the health of the project. examines the overall health of open source projects from the dimensions of code quality, bug handling efficiency, and diversity of participants.

fourth is the influence aspect of the project. examines the influence of open source projects from the dimensions of project upstream and downstream collaboration, number of concerns, number of derivatives, and issues.

One is self-examination. helps companies understand the development stage of their own open source projects, find problems and fill in the gaps, and further standardize and improve the construction of open source projects.

Based on the standards and preliminary work foundation, the Electronic Standards Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has started to evaluate the maturity of the open source projects of Baidu, Ali, Tencent, Ant and other units since November.
