2021 is too fast for me. Looking back on this year, I was exhausted at work and did not make any valuable things; there is no major advancement in technology, let alone any valuable projects and Article output; maybe the only extra thing is a circle of fat on the belly.

If I use one word to summarize my year, it would be " decadence ".

Although I have been quite decadent this year, it is not the time to give up my dream, so I struggled to get up and wrote this year-end summary of 2021.

Project turbulence, department disbanded

Just after coming back this year, I learned from the gossip that the leader of this department has changed to Tencent to become the leader...
Originally, this project was a temporary project in Nanjing. Now the leading leader left quietly, and one can imagine our fate. In this way, people around one after another left and quit.

In such a confused state, I spent the first half of the year hauntingly. Fortunately, the team resumed its stability in the second half of the year and developed in a good direction. Originally thought that it would be able to transition to the end of the year safely, and then happily jumped with the year-end bonus. As a result, the company suddenly announced the cancellation of the project at the beginning of November, and the department was disbanded. The staff was laid off.

I vaguely remember that the day I learned the news of the layoffs, I was still struggling to interrupt the location of the breakpoint. Although I also had the expectation that the project would drop off, it all came so suddenly, making people unprepared.

Fortunately, the company still insists on military ethics and gave us some compensation, and the social security provident fund was also paid to us until the end of the year. At the same time, it also approved our last group trip. In any case, everyone was happily dismissed in the end, and it was easy to get together and to disperse.

Find the other half of my life

Finding my current girlfriend, which is also my other half in the future, is one of the few valuable things I have done this year. This is also my 2020 year-end summary of my expectations for this year. I didn't expect it to come true!

I met her in mid-March of this year. It’s hard to imagine that there is such a girl who is almost exactly what I imagined in the world. We have only been together for almost a month since we realized that we were lucky. I met her during the busiest time in the first half of the year, so that my world is no longer just work and code!

The wave of layoffs in the cold winter of the Internet

As the saying goes, the reason why misfortune is dependent on blessing is that blessing lies in misfortune. Just when I am quiet in the sweetness of love, crisis is also quietly approaching me.

This year's Internet industry is particularly cold. The story of the wolf who used to shout "Internet winter" has actually come true this year! In desperation, I had to update my resume and review the interview collection and algorithm questions that I had compiled before. To regain the status and pick up the few job opportunities at the end of the year.

At the beginning, I was very anxious due to the high expectations and the strong gap between ideals and reality. Later, with the understanding and company of my family and girlfriends, and after watching the movie "The Banker", it made me even more anxious. Calmly accepting myself and the difficulties I am in, and giving me the courage to face all difficulties.

So after I simply adjusted the interview status and strategy, I quickly passed the interviews of various companies. Within a week, I received offers from 6 companies at the same time, which made me a little unexpected.

So it’s still the same sentence: Even if the cold winter really comes, as long as you have excellent skills and the courage to face all difficulties, any cold winter will not frost you. I believe that after that, a brand new spring will come. Will come!

The output of this year is basically concentrated in the first half of the year, especially in January and February.

Open source projects

The second-ranked XUpdate released 5 versions this year, the number of stars has risen from 1.3k to 1.7k, and the results are also very average.

There are no new and valuable projects open sourced this year, mainly because the Jetpack framework maintained by Google open source is relatively easy to use, and there is no more time and energy investment, so the current open source projects are mainly maintenance-oriented. .

Blog aspect

So far, only 12 technical blog posts have been produced this year, and they are mainly concentrated in January and February. If you are careful, you will surely know the whole story.

The usual work is relatively busy, and it is often necessary to work overtime.Often, only in the middle of the night do I have free time to engage in technical research and write blogs.

Now I, time is not completely controlled by me, I need to spend more time with my family, especially my girlfriend, so my time for blockbuster movies is all broken. I have blogged Everyone knows that there is no high-quality article without a complete time slice, and a little bit of inertia, so I, like the predecessors before, slowly began to give up the creation of blogs.

This year-end total settlement is my self-reflection. I hope I can still spare some time next year to regularly summarize my experience and reflections, and create more valuable blogs to share with everyone!
