What is conversion tracking?

Conversion tracking is a very important link in advertising. For example, when advertisers use HUAWEI Ads place ads, they can combine with Huawei's dynamic tag management service (Dynamic Tag Manager, hereinafter referred to as "DTM") to set up conversion tracking to help advertisers easily achieve advertising conversion channel tracking and conversion Effectiveness analysis.

Huawei Dynamic Tag Management is a dynamic tag code management system (Tag Manager System) that can dynamically update the tracking code through a Web page to help developers easily complete dynamic tracking of specific events and transfer the data to the analysis platform and advertising attribution platform . So far, DTM tracking is the first choice for HUAWEI Ads web tracking.

In the case of embedded DTM JS/SDK, the webpage only needs to configure the tracking code to return the conversion. In addition to the more convenient operation of DTM for conversion tracking, it also has the following advantages:

  • Shorten the cycle: DTM-based web interface configuration rules or visual embedding can quickly obtain data, which can greatly save time and cost compared to the way of developing dots on the page
  • High flexibility: In the delivery process, when our delivery strategy or data requirements change, just add the corresponding conditions in the code management of the DTM Portal page to quickly adjust, without repeating the tedious process of burying points, Re-release the application version, more flexible and convenient

How to configure HUAWEI Ads conversion tracking with DTM, only need to complete the following steps (take web conversion tracking as an example) :

1. Obtain the tracking code in Huawei DTM and embed the code in the landing page

2. Create a new conversion on the HUAWEI Ads

3. Huawei DTM and send it back to HUAWEI Ads

1. Log in to the AppGallery Connect platform to obtain the tracking code and embed the code in the web page.

① Click "My Project>Create Project" on the AppGallery Connect page, fill in the project name and submit. Click "Add Application", fill in the name and submit.

② Click "Growth>Dynamic Label Management>Open Service", fill in the configuration name and promotion link, click "OK" after completion, and then the tracking code pop-up box will pop up, copy the generated tracking code, and embed it on all promotion webpages (including mobile phones) ). The code only needs to be embedded once and is effective for a long time.

2. Create a conversion on the HUAWEI Ads

① Log in to the Huawei advertising service delivery background, click "Tools> Conversion Tracking> New Conversion Index", select "Tracking Leads> DTM" and click "Continue". Set conversion information: conversion category, conversion name, click attribution time range, etc.

② After filling in the information, click "Next" to establish the lead tracking conversion and generate the conversion ID. The conversion ID will be used in the code configuration (tracking ID) of the DTM in the future, please save it for future use.

3. Configure the conversion event in Huawei DTM and send it back to HUAWEI Ads

Log in to the AppGallery Connect platform for configuration management, click "Growth>Dynamic Label Management" to create a configuration, complete the configuration of variable, condition, and code management, or quickly configure it by visualizing the point.

After the configuration is complete, the version can be released to complete the conversion tracking, and the conversion data corresponding to the event can be seen through the backstage of the Huawei advertising service report.
