Time Flies!

review

EmacsTalk went live on June 26, 2021. It has been half a year now. New Year's Day is approaching. It's time to make a year-end review. Let's take a look at the data for the past six months:

  • Podcast: 9 issues
  • Skills Article: 13 Issues
  • Website PV: 13450
  • Website UV: 10758
  • Number of subscriptions to the official account: 866
  • Power generation sponsorship: ¥500 (I would like to thank these enthusiastic listeners for power generation)

At the beginning of the show, it was mainly for podcast production. On the one hand, it was novel and enthusiasm. On the other hand, it was known that as time progressed, the pace of the show would definitely slow down, so I wanted to make a few more channels at the beginning to let everyone Some understanding of this podcast can be regarded as a foothold in the market.

It was recorded on the same day at the fastest time, and edited and released the next day. A one-hour podcast usually takes 3-4 hours to produce, but listening to the podcast is very fast. I usually listen to the podcast at double speed, and I usually listen to it in my leisure time, so there is no concept of time.

After making 9 issues, it happened to be in time for Double Eleven, and there would be more work at work, so I decided to relax for a while, and then continue to the present. During this period, I have been creating articles about using techniques. Emacs is so magical. Even after 5 years of use, new usages can still be discovered from time to time.

data analysis

With the help of platforms such as Baidu and WeChat, I can roughly see the portraits of EmacsTalk listeners. I think it is more interesting. Let me share with you.

Congratulations to the above-mentioned TOP3 guests, but the data does not represent everything. Due to many factors (the early guests are obviously at a disadvantage), the content of other guests is also full of "wet goods". Here, I would like to thank all the guests for their support. ❤️️

Outlook

In the new year, in addition to the current interview mode podcast, I thought I could find another anchor to discuss some recent trends in Emacs with me, because after subscribing to the emacs-devel mailing list, I found that there are many interesting discussions in it . The content of the mailing list is easy to be buried, so if someone can regularly share the valuable and interesting content inside, it will be a very meaningful thing. If any audience or reader is interested in this matter, welcome Contact me.

In addition, if another anchor can be found, the update frequency of the program can also be better guaranteed.

Finally, set a new year's goal. I hope to complete 12 podcasts and 30 tips on how to use it in 2022.

Happy New Year to all readers and listeners, Make Emacs Great Again!
