At the beginning of the new year in 2022, the Open Source Society also ushered in its eighth year. Eight years ago, we started by drawing the logo of Kaiyuan Society on the beach by the sea. With the continuous efforts of a group of like-minded Kaiyuan friends, Kaiyuan Society has become a common public welfare cause of Kaiyuan people. When we look back, we see change and change:

We found that the definition of the vision of the open source society is still accurate to this day. Just like DNA, let the entire organization be passed down in an orderly manner;

We found that the four pillars of the open source community are the core of open source governance, open source projects, international integration, and the foundation of community development is stable and unshakable;

We also found that the new force of the open source society is on the rise, attracting more and more young people, and they are becoming the backbone of the open source society and China's open source cause.

In 2022, Open Source Society will make some breakthroughs and attempts, and there will be more precipitation and extension. We are in the best of times for open source. The architecture design of Kaiyuan Society is like a water conservancy channel. Everyone is like flowing water, gathering together. In their respective positions, because they are trusted and respected, they are given sufficient space to show their unique talents. GNOME.Asia community, former director of the GNOME Foundation, since 2014 co-founded the open source society, has actively promoted open source governance, online and offline activities, open source projects, and international communication. 2. While absorbing new blood to welcome new directors, Kaiyuan Society also needs some current directors to continue to serve, inherit the past and usher in the future, and inherit the essence and long-term work plan of Kaiyuan Society.

What change do you want to promote or facilitate when you are elected?

Some of the existing working groups and projects of the Open Source Society will continue to maintain their direction and goals, and there are still some new directions worth exploring in 2022:

1. Open Source Community Leadership summit/workshop, China needs to propose a community of open source community operators, who can start from the workshop to exchange and learn the theory and practice of open source community operations;

2. The connection between open source projects and developers can start with the projects of inhouse's open source community. Help the existing projects of the Open Source Society to connect with more developers and university laboratory teams, and connect the open source developers with the existing projects of the Open Source Society. Senior open source elders bring new open source power and gradually grow.

3. Let the open source community have more precipitation, from the summary and precipitation of each event and each conference, from the polishing and output of open source governance theory, and the writing of more original open source articles. The things in the minds of open source experts of the Open Source Society are shaped and output in a form that everyone can accept.

In 2021, the host and Singularity Charity will explore the "open source public welfare outsourcing" model, which is still in the stage of funding connection.

In the second half of the year, he presided over the preparatory work for the COSCon 2021 Chengdu field, and pioneered the all-outdoor "open source market" mode in China, activating the entire Chengdu technical community and inspiring communities in other cities across the country to try more interesting forms of activities in the future.

At the same time, the experiment succeeded in the organizational collaboration process of "Feishu Database". Compared with the open-source "Organization Management System" last year, its development and use costs are lower.
