Recently, DB-Engines announced the database list for March 2022.
This list covers a total of more than 340 database systems. Among them, the top five rankings have not changed, and the top three are still Oracle, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server, which have dominated the list for many years.
In the top ten of the list, PostgreSQL and MongoDB ranked fourth and fifth respectively, and Elasticsearch ranked eighth, which remained unchanged.
The top ten changes in the list are: Redis ranked sixth, IBM Db2 ranked seventh - compared to last year, the rankings of the two have changed positions, but the rankings have not changed compared to last month; Likewise, Microsoft Access at No. 9 and SQLite at No. 10 have shifted positions compared to last year's rankings.
In terms of scoring, the top three Oracle, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server have all changed slightly: the first Oracle database model ranked No. 1 again this time with a score of 1251.32, but the score dropped slightly by 5.51 compared to the previous month. It also dropped by 70.42 year-on-year; the second-ranked MySQL scored 1198.23 this month, down 16.45 from the previous month and 56.59 from last year; the third-ranked Microsoft SQL Server scored 933.78 this time, compared to the previous year. The month was down 15.27 and was down 81.52 year-on-year. Conversely, PostgreSQL at No. 4 and MongoDB at No. 5 increased their scores.
Among the 10th to 20th places on the list, the much-watched Snowflake ranking rose from the 15th place last month to the 14th place; the score increased by 3.05 compared with the previous month, and increased by 63.04 compared with last year.
Judging from the trend change curve of database scores over the years since 2013, the curves with the most obvious (exponentially growing) score changes in this list are Snowflake and ClickHouse; of course, the more obvious curve changes include the 15th Microsoft Azure SQL Database at No. 1 and Google BigQuery at No. 24.
