According to the white paper, more and more Chinese enterprises have begun to accept cloud-native development methods. Nearly 50% of enterprises have applied cloud-native technologies to the production environment, and 83% of enterprises will increase their investment in cloud-native.

With the continuous development of the digital economy, digital transformation has entered a deep-water zone. Due to the huge number and variety of applications, enterprises increasingly need agile innovation capabilities to adapt to market demands.

Cloud native, as a series of software, development methods and logic, can help enterprises to create modern application development, achieve high resource utilization, highly elastic architecture, and efficient processes, and facilitate the rapid update of enterprise services and digital innovation. IDC's global survey results show that compared with traditional development methods, 52% of enterprises said they would adopt cloud-native development methods, and 18% of enterprises said they only considered cloud-native development methods.

According to the white paper, nearly 50% of Chinese enterprises using cloud native have applied cloud native technology to the core and sub-core systems of the production environment, and 83% of enterprises will continue to increase their investment in cloud native.

2020 can be regarded as the first year of the large-scale implementation of cloud native in the Chinese market, and cloud native has widely entered the vision of non-Internet enterprises. According to IDC research, the five industries with the most investment in cloud native technology in traditional industries in 2020 are: finance, government, manufacturing, communications, and services. The five industries with the fastest CAGR in the next five years are communications, manufacturing, transportation, government and finance.

Through research, IDC found that in the next two years, most enterprises will choose hybrid and multi-cloud deployment methods to build cloud-native platforms, so the widespread use of cloud-native multi-cluster/multi-cloud management tools has become an inevitable trend. In addition, cloud-native work and application loads will grow rapidly. IDC predicts that the proportion of new production-grade cloud-native applications in new applications will increase from 10% in 2020 to 60% in 2024.

For the cloud-native practice path, the white paper suggests that in the early stage of small-scale practice, enterprises can use open source to build cloud-native platforms or directly use mature products of existing manufacturers; Smoothly complete cloud-native evolution.
