Recently, Google publicly rewarded 25 open source contributors for their contributions to the Rust project and ecosystem.
Google said in the official blog: Open source is not only the core of our process but also the core of many products. While we contribute directly upstream whenever possible, the Open Source Peer Bonus program is designed to reward external open source contributors for outstanding contributions to free software, whether or not that contribution benefits Google.
Google also expressed its gratitude to Rust on the blog: The Rust programming language is an open-source systems programming language with a strong focus on memory safety, and the Rusts community is committed to maintaining high-quality packages and tools. The language has a caring community and a strong ecosystem of packages, which has greatly contributed to its growing popularity.
As a founding member of the Rust Foundation, Google uses Rust in many open source projects, including Android, Fuchsia, and ICU4X, and participates in the evaluation of Rust in the Linux kernel.
