【FAQ】HMS Core Advertising Service: How to Obtain the Official Advertising Slot ID and Restrictions on Traffic Monetization

It is mentioned in the HMS Core Advertising Service Development Guide that "xxxx is a dedicated advertising slot ID for testing, and it needs to be changed to the official advertising slot ID when the app is officially released." So today we will talk about how to obtain the official advertising slot ID.

What is the difference between a test slot ID and an official slot ID?

Test ad slot ID: Ads can be requested in both mainland China and non-mainland China without distinguishing between applications and conditions, which is helpful for developers to verify whether ad requests and display are normal in the integrated development stage.

Official advertising slot ID: Only after the application is online, will the advertising task be issued, and the advertisement will be requested for display.

How to get the official ad slot ID?

The process of media access:

1. Log in to the HUAWEI Ads media service platform.

Click the "Start Monetization" button in the " HUAWEI Ads Traffic Monetization Service ", log in to the account and enter the " HUAWEI Ads Media Service Platform " (or directly click the hyperlink to enter the media service. There are many ways, currently only one of them).

2. Add media in [Traffic Management] > [Media Management].

3. Add a display slot in [Traffic Management] > [Display Position Management].

After the placement is created successfully, you can see the ID of the placement, that is, the ID of the ad slot, and then you can view the ID of the created ad slot in [Place Management].

4. Display position management specifications.

The display slot name specification is "XX (full name of the application) XX scene XX style", for example: Huawei video information flow big picture; the same display slot ID can be used for the positions of multiple similar scenes, and it is recommended not to create multiple display slot IDs; Select the form and size of the display space, fill in the "Display Position Name", and the self-test can be integrated after submission.

Explanation of restrictions on traffic monetization

Traffic changes have different restrictions in mainland China and non-mainland China.

1. Restricted instructions for mainland China

1) Publisher restrictions: Real-name authentication to become an enterprise developer of the Huawei Developer Alliance, including enterprises that have obtained legal authorization from application developers. To put it simply, individual developers are not currently supported to monetize traffic. Check out the supported countries for enterprise developers and individual developers.

2) Media restrictions: Apps/quick apps/quick games that access the advertising service platform must be listed on the Huawei AppGallery. Game apps and fast games that are linked with Huawei are prohibited from accessing other advertising content/plug-ins/SDKs other than the advertising service platform.

3) Supported device limitation: Huawei mobile phone 4.0.0 and above.

2. Restrictions on Realization in Non-Mainland China Regions

1) Subject restriction: The subject of the traffic monetization service must be an enterprise developer or individual developer who has completed real-name authentication and opened merchant services. Currently, the HUAWEI Ads traffic monetization service supports the country/region of enterprise developers and individual developers (subject to the account registration place). See details .

2) Media restrictions: In mainland China, game apps that are jointly transported with Huawei are prohibited from accessing other advertising content/plug-ins/SDKs other than advertising services. Other types of apps are allowed to access HUAWEI Ads without this restriction; in other countries/regions other than mainland China, apps listed on AppGallery or GooglePlay can access the HUAWEI Ads traffic monetization service. 3) Supported device limitation: SDK version 13.4.45.304 and later

Other Android devices currently only support brands such as HONOR, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi and Samsung. If you need to integrate the SDK for realization on Android devices of other brands, choose: com.huawei.hms:ads: . . . , if you need to integrate the SDK in the realization of HUAWEI devices, choose: com.huawei.hms:ads-lite: . . .
