The whimsical world of a graphic designer

Behind these symbols is an unknown graphic designer - Cen Xingman. He used minimalist lines to outline the most spiritual picture scrolls, showing everything vividly, in line with the saying: "As big as the heart, the stage is as big."

I have always been a rigorous and efficient person, which may also have something to do with my career. Graphic designer, a creative work with strong subjective identification, requires rigorous, efficient and strong learning ability. On this road, I groped for a long time until I entered ONES, and I really felt the sense of accomplishment and mission as a graphic designer.

Designing corporate logos, holiday gift boxes, cultural shirts... Every little thing allows me to give full play to my creativity and inspiration, and keep learning and improving. At the same time, the small patterns also reflect ONES's emphasis on corporate culture and brand. And I, as the company's graphic designer, put the brand symbols into real objects, which is also a silent transmission of corporate culture.

I joined the company at the end of 2018, and I was the first batch of employees who grew up with the company. At first, I was the only graphic designer in the company, and there was no clear plan for the brand's visual effects and packaging promotion. After joining the company, the first important task I received was to design the company's logo. I thought, this must be a "long way to go" task.

During the process, Ying Qi (CEO) gave many directional suggestions, and finally decided to use the nautilus symbol as the main body of the Logo, and also integrated the engineering element gear. The direction is there, but expressing a symbol in visual design requires a lot of trials, including the fusion of multiple elements, creative expression and its color. From the initiation of the project to the final draft, I changed hundreds of design plans before and after, and overwhelmed many opinions, and finally presented such a perfect Logo.

ONES is designed with respect. Although the cycle is repeated many times, each time the communication between colleagues is equal and inclusive. Every time the design needs are very clear, it will also allow me to make more suggestions, communicate more, and encourage me to try boldly, think boldly, and not be afraid of making mistakes. We often hold design sharing meetings to expand the horizons of our colleagues; at the same time, the working equipment of designers is also particularly important. When they first joined the company, in order to meet professional work needs and improve work efficiency, designers can apply for more professional equipment, such as iMac.

I am someone who separates life from work. Work hard when you are at work, and enjoy your leisure time after get off work. Maybe it’s because of my career. In life, I like to visit exhibitions, not only to find design inspiration, but also because visiting exhibitions can temporarily break away from the rhythm of real life and be immersed in interesting little stories, which are very full. After all, inspiration bursts out in an instant, and every exhibition will plant a seed in my heart, and I don’t know when it can be used in work. The one I go to most often is the Sea World Culture and Art Center, where there are often niche art exhibitions and design exhibitions, and I highly recommend everyone to visit.

In Shenzhen, many Internet companies advocate "work-life balance", and ONES is one of them. After get off work, instead of asking "Have you worked overtime?", you will ask, "Have you played football recently?" At a very young age, my father would take us to NBA games, take me to play basketball, and make me fall in love with the sport; I think that sport is an intangible investment that keeps us awake and at the same time releases pressure. So, one of the things I like about ONES is that it has a very sporty vibe - we have a basketball team and we'll have a "ball appointment" together after get off work. Fortunately, this exercise has cured my cervical spondylosis for many years, and my physical fitness has also improved a lot.
