RTE NG-Lab: Explore the new world of next-generation real-time interaction together

The Internet has completely changed our work and life. From paper letterheads, to apps in smartphones, to VR headsets, the real-time interactive experience has been upgraded from generation to generation and has become a part of our lives. With the explosion of the metaverse, the newly added real-time interactive scenes are increasingly subverting the boundaries of our imagination, and the vast space is close at hand.

This spring, the Shengwang developer team has successively conducted a series of exchanges with active partners in the community, both online and offline. During this process, everyone talked about a topic: what should we do now that engineering technology and industry development are more and more closely integrated, so that the future can be projected in, so that everyone can feel the prototype of the next generation of "big thing" together as soon as possible ? What should be done, so that more people in the real-time interaction field can participate together, continue to explore and discover more new technologies, new products and new scenarios, and accelerate the implementation of technologies combined with scenarios, and do something more interesting and valuable together. matter? From this, together with the community, we launched the RTE NG-Lab program.

What is the RTE NG-Lab program?

RTE NG-Lab is a long-term plan jointly initiated by Shengwang and the RTE developer community to provide communication and assistance to people who are concerned about the field of RTE (Real-Time Engagement). We hope that more people will participate, explore and innovate together, build new technologies, new products, and new scenarios, improve real-time interactive experience, promote and accelerate the implementation of real-time interactive projects, and jointly build the next-generation RTE technology ecosystem. The RTE NG-Lab program includes three parts : Idea Box, Code Lab, and NGLab Incubator .

● Idea Box

The Inspiration Box is a stage for unleashing imagination, which is used to gather the needs and creativity of real-time interaction in various scenarios, and form a co-construction mechanism on this basis. Based on the current understanding of the RTE community on real-time interactive scenarios, we have established an inspiration treasure box project on GitHub based on the "RTE Vientiane Map" of SoundNet: https://github.com/AgoraIO-Community/Idea-Box , and Will continue to update. The purpose of the inspiration box is to bring the scene closer to the technology and continue to shorten the process of demand landing. Anyone interested in the RTE field, including but not limited to product managers, designers, developers, and users, can contribute ideas about RTE scenarios, put forward requirements, continue to explore and communicate with content of interest, and can also update Further participation or initiation of projects of interest.

● Code Lab (Code Lab)

Code Lab is a RTE new technology hands-on experience project, which aims to effectively shorten the generation gap of technology implementation by providing consultative service support. Based on real hot application scenarios, we will regularly issue themes and convene interested developers to experience the most cutting-edge technology implementation point-to-point, and jointly try, discuss, improve and even redefine the next-generation RTE technology. Interested partners can continue to pay attention to and participate in workshops, Hackathon and other activities in our code lab.

● Independent developer incubator (NGLab Incubator)

The independent developer incubator focuses on providing independent developers with resources, methods and peer exchanges and other support for the entire ecological chain. Independent developers are highly concerned about new technologies and have great enthusiasm for solving problems in new application scenarios, but they usually have fewer resources to mobilize and more constraints. The independent developer incubator hopes to bring some practical support to independent developers and help them avoid some "pits" and troubles in the growth process. Shengwang established an incubator working group together with the RTE developer community, and invited Shengwang MVP, senior technical expert, and leader of the Linux China Development Group Bai Huancheng as the principal to provide as many resources as possible for the selected independent developers . In addition to the selected project bonus, it also leads independent developers to complete the initial requirement verification and payment verification, and organizes regular exchanges to help independent developers better complete product development and iteration, and open a new future.
