The Microsoft Most Valuable Professional is a global award given to third-party technology professionals by Microsoft Corporation. For 29 years, technology community leaders around the world have received this award for sharing expertise and experience in technology communities, both online and offline.

01 Who are the Microsoft MVPs?

MVPs are a carefully selected team of experts who represent the most skilled and intelligent minds, passionate and helpful experts who are deeply invested in the community. MVP is committed to helping others and maximizing the use of Microsoft technologies by Microsoft technical community users by speaking, forum Q&A, creating websites, writing blogs, sharing videos, open source projects, organizing conferences, etc. At present, there are more than 3,000 Microsoft MVPs in more than 90 countries around the world.

You may ask, is the Microsoft MVP a group of senior technical experts and industry leaders, can young friends who have just worked for a few years apply? 03 How to apply for Microsoft MVP?

At present, Microsoft MVP adopts a recommendation system, and current MVPs or full-time Microsoft employees need to be nominated, and nominations are made once a month.

1 Understand the technical classification of the Microsoft MVP award, and choose a technical direction to apply.

Log in to the official website https://mvp.microsoft.com/zh-cn/Pages/mvp-award-update and choose one of 14 technical directions based on your free contributions in the technical community in the past 12 months.

2 Please log on to the official website https://mvp.microsoft.com/zh-cn/Nomination/nominate-an-mvp for your recommenders to nominate you.

3 Under your chosen technical direction, continue to select the corresponding contribution field, and fill in all your free technical contributions in the past 12 months.

4 Continue to supplement or modify your community technical contributions within 90 natural days from the submission date, and wait for the final result.

04 How long is the tenure of Microsoft MVP?

The term of Microsoft MVP is one year, and each year, free community contributions for the past 12 months are required to be reviewed for renewal. Those who pass the review will continue to serve; those who do not pass the review need to retire. After retirement, they can continue to accumulate community contributions and reapply, or apply for a Reconnect medal as a commemoration. If the MVP becomes a Microsoft employee, he needs to inform the project team and retire.
