GitLab will enforce storage limits for free users
Beginning October 19, 2022, GitLab will implement a storage limit of 5GB for the namespaces of all GitLab SaaS Edition free users.

Affected users will be notified via email, and in-app notifications will be available starting August 22. "We've reached 30,000 users so far." GitLab staff recently discussed and responded to the new announcement publicly on the Hacker News forum.
According to the official schedule, for the namespace storage limit, GitLab will start from 45,000 GB, gradually reduce it, and finally limit it to 5 GB.
Google publicly slams Apple for hindering cross-platform communication
On August 9, Google took a public swipe at Apple for failing to improve the user experience between iPhone and Android users. Google provided a statement to the media confirming the accident and stressing that the health and safety of all employees is the company's top priority, and is working closely with partners and local governments to thoroughly investigate the situation and provide necessary assistance.
Musk responded to cash out 46.5 billion yuan, or create a new social platform
Musk sold a total of 7.92 million Tesla shares from August 5 to 9, worth a total of about $6.89 billion (about 46.5 billion yuan). In response to this, Musk responded on Twitter on August 10 that he sold Tesla shares because he needed cash in case he was forced to continue the transaction to acquire Twitter. At the same time, he also said that if the acquisition of Twitter does not come through, he will buy back Tesla stock again. However, as recently as April of this year, Musk publicly stated on social media that he would not sell further Tesla shares after that. In addition, Musk gave an answer of "X.com" when asked if he was considering building his own social platform. It is reported that Musk founded a financial services brand called "X.com" in 1999. The company was merged by Confinity in 2000 and changed its name to PayPal in 2001. In 2017, Musk bought back the "X.com" domain name from PayPal.

Earlier, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman also said that Apple has begun recording its fall conference. Windows 11 encryption bug causes data loss to run slowly
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 has an encryption bug that can cause data loss to run slowly. The issue primarily affects recent Windows devices that support the Vector Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) (VAES) instruction set. VAES is part of the AVX-512 instruction set, which is supported on Intel's Ice Lake, Tiger Lake, Rocket Lake, and Alder Lake architecture processors. AMD's latest Zen 4 processors also support VAES, but it won't be released until the fall. Microsoft says it caused the problem when the Windows encryption library SymCrypt updated encryption instructions to introduce a new code path. It recommends that Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 users install the June 2022 security update, which contains an initial fix for the bug by disabling cryptographic acceleration. The July 2022 security update will restore performance to previous levels.
OpenSUSE considers removing reiserfs filesystem
It is understood that on the OpenSUSE mailing list, maintainer Jeff Mahoney proposed to remove the reiserfs filesystem. When the SUSE distribution introduced reiserfs more than 20 years ago it was the leading filesystem at the time, introducing journal protection for Linux for the first time. But development and user interest in the filesystem stalled after reiserfs author Hans Reiser was convicted of murder. Jeff Mahoney pointed out that he has not touched it for over five years as the maintainer of the upstream reiserfs userspace project, that reiserfs now lacks many of the features that users expect, and that he recommends removing reiserfs from openSUSE Tumbleweed immediately. The Linux kernel community has also previously discussed removing reiserfs.
