Tencent Cloud releases cloud developer tool Cloud Studio to help developers achieve one-stop development (including benefits)

The further development of cloud computing is promoting "development on the cloud" to become a new paradigm.

On August 15, Tencent Cloud released Cloud Studio, a one-stop cloud development tool, which supports developers to use Web IDE (Integrated Development Environment) to realize remote collaborative development and application deployment.

In the traditional development mode, developers need to configure the development environment locally, and different teams develop in modules. After the development is completed, they cooperate with the operation and maintenance team to complete the deployment of the application. This is why, during the epidemic, many programmers needed to carry their mainframe computers home. Cloud Studio is equivalent to moving the local development environment to the cloud, allowing developers to remotely view, edit, and deploy code, just like using Tencent Docs to collaborate.

This "cloud-native" development model is increasingly becoming a new industry trend. Microsoft's Code Spaces, Google's Cloud Shell, AWS's Code Star, etc. are all hot development tools in the past two years. The core is to let developers get rid of the shackles of the local development physical environment and facilitate remote collaboration. Cloud Studio was launched as an independent product in 2015. It is the first development tool in China that integrates the underlying cloud resources and the online development environment. In the past two years, domestic cloud manufacturers have paid more attention to the construction of developer tools. Cloud Studio has also been further upgraded to the Tencent Cloud developer ecological portal, which is intended to integrate cloud resources and PaaS capabilities such as DevOps, and provide developers with efficient, stable, comprehensive and convenient developer tools.

At present, Cloud Studio fully supports Java Spring Boot, Python, Node.js and other rich development template sample libraries, with online development, debugging, preview, port automatic identification and other capabilities.

At the same time, Cloud Studio has integrated the online development collaboration module for internal testing. In the next version, it will be fully open, allowing developers to design, discuss and develop anytime, anywhere.

Cloud Studio has standardized cloud installation and deployment capabilities, and supports cloud cloning of mainstream code repositories. In the cloud and enterprise intranet environment, the code can be safe, controllable and auditable, and the code and data will not be spilled, which satisfies the security development and collaboration of the code in the enterprise environment.

Compared with local IDEs, users can also flexibly adjust work specifications when using Cloud Studio. For example, in scenarios that require accelerated compilation, such as AI model calculation, users can adjust the development environment to a high specification to make compilation faster. After the calculation is completed, adjust to a lower specification.

At present, Cloud Studio has been implemented in many types of scenarios. For example, in the collaborative development of projects in large enterprises, hundreds of developers can achieve remote development and collaboration during home office, which has significantly improved the overall efficiency of the local development model. College teachers can use Cloud Studio for teaching, on-site drills, and online coding and debugging. During the technical interview process, the interviewer can also use Cloud Studio to generate questions and test the programming ability of the interviewee online.

It is understood that Cloud Studio will launch functions such as code storage and application deployment within this year, allowing developers to directly connect to the underlying cloud resources after completing development in the cloud to complete application deployment and launch.

Huang Junhong, vice president of Tencent Cloud, said that in the future, Cloud Studio will further improve its product capabilities, provide developers with more collaboration, hosting, integration, deployment capabilities and product interfaces, and provide a better cloud development experience. At the same time, for the general development crowd such as operations and products, Cloud Studio will also iterate new ones, providing low-threshold and easy-to-use development tools. Tencent Cloud will continue to explore the pain points and needs of developers, improve the integration capabilities of platform products, and allow developers to focus more on creating value.
