.NET August Update Rollup
Welcome to the .NET August 2022 Update, this time with security and non-security improvements. You can download .NET 6.0.8 and .NET Core 3.1.28 for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Security Update: Announcement of information on vulnerabilities in .NET 6 and .NET Core 3.1. This advisory also provides guidance on what developers can do to update their applications to eliminate this vulnerability.
Visual Studio Compatibility:
• .NET Core 3.1 requires Visual Studio 2019 16.9 or higher to take advantage of all its features • You need Visual Studio 17.2 or higher to use .NET 6.0 on Windows
• C# extension for Visual Studio Code supports .NET 6 and C# 10
.NET Core 3.1 will end support on December 13 this year.
Tip: If you haven't deployed the most recent .NET update, your application may be vulnerable.
NuGet 6.3
NuGet 6.3 is included with Visual Studio 2022 and .NET 6 out of the box for Windows, macOS, and Linux, where users can download NuGet 6.3 as a standalone executable. Version 6.3 brings you many new features. Our NuGet tool helps developers discover new .NET packages for their .NET applications, while simplifying package management during day-to-day development.
Highlights of this NuGet 6.3 release include:
- Using pdbs files from PackageReference's packages
- View transitive dependencies in Visual Studio
- New warning for duplicate PackageReference, PackageVersion or PackageDownload found
- Install package with custom floating version in Visual Studio
- Re-enable signed package verification by default on Linux
- HTTPS is everywhere
TypeScript 4.8 RC
