The CNCF Foundation has also proposed the CloudEvents specification, which aims to utilize a unified specification format for declaring event communication. EventBridge also follows this standard. As a community standard, CloudEvents relieves everyone's concerns about vendor lock-in and improves the interoperability between various systems. It is equivalent to agreeing a unified language for each system. This is a very critical step.
Events have a unified specification in the open source community, but on the cloud, users have purchased many cloud products from cloud vendors, and cloud products may generate hundreds of millions of events every day. These events lie in different cloud service logs or internal In the implementation, users can't see or know what happened to the cloud product instance on the cloud; at the same time, different manufacturers define events differently, and there is no same type of standard as a whole; in addition, events between various cloud services are isolated , which is not conducive to mining the value of events.
