Anaconda is an open source Python distribution that includes more than 180 scientific packages such as conda, Python, and their dependencies.
Anaconda release version 2022.05 is officially released this month, according to the official introduction 2022.05 has ARM64 architecture for Apple M1 (20% faster computing), Anaconda Navigator 2.1.4, conda 4.12.0 and several new and updated software packages Native compilation capabilities.
But starting June 30, 2022, Anaconda will no longer update, maintain, or provide support for Win32 packages, and current Win32 installer package builds are still available from Anaconda's repositories and will remain available indefinitely . That is to say, 2022.05 is the last version to support Win32. The current official recommendation is to first determine the impact on your workflow and then decide if you should migrate to newer hardware or upgrade to a newer installer.
In addition to the existing supported architectures, the latest Anaconda release version 2022.05 will provide native ARM64 support for the M1 MAC. All packages included in the installer have been compiled to support ARM64, which means M1 users can now enjoy the computational efficiency of M1s and speed up their workflow by 20%.
Now update to Anaconda release 2022.05 version using "conda install anaconda=2022.05", or download and install 2022.05.
It is worth noting that macOS M1 does not yet support Qt, and Anaconda Navigator and Spyder will not be available.
In total, the 2022.05 release adds over 60 new and 170 updated cross-platform and backport compatibility packages and removes over 40 packages.
