Hey, graduates, come here! Another year of graduation season, a large number of fresh graduates are about to enter the workplace, are you ready?
Two days ago, the first batch of fresh graduates have successfully joined ONES. In the next few months, many students will join one after another. Many people must be wondering what kind of experience it is to work in ONES and whether they can realize their self-worth?
Today, we invited 5 senior brothers and sisters from the R&D team, sales team and marketing team to talk about their experience and feelings in ONES, let's take a look together.
Q: Why did you choose ONES for your first job after graduation?
A: Actually, I got two offers at that time, one is ONES and the other is a big factory. During the interview process, the ONES interviewer made me feel more cordial and professional; moreover, I did project management in the RoboMaster team during college, which is a very unforgettable and happy memory. When I learned that it had cooperated with ONES, I resolutely Definitely decided to come here.
After joining, I found that ONES is beyond my imagination in many aspects. Our team atmosphere is particularly good, everyone is young, energetic and friendly. For example, in our two meetings a week, everyone can express their ideas freely and actively, and the atmosphere is very active; at work, our team is very rigorous and has a very learning atmosphere, and the group often shares books with each other; We also have frequent dinners. I am a native of Northeast China, and I still remember one time, because I missed my hometown cuisine, the big guy accompanied me to eat authentic Northeastern cuisine once.
Q: How does your current job leverage your strengths?
A: I am a very cheerful and enthusiastic person, so a sales job has always been my ideal. In ONES this year, my language expression, logical thinking and dealing with people have been greatly improved, and this position has also given full play to my advantages. It takes a while to get used to the transition from being a student to a professional. But I didn’t get used to it for a long time at ONES. Maybe it was because I met a good team. The interaction with my colleagues made me feel the simplicity and harmony of the campus. hapiness.
Q: Why did you choose to join ONES in the first place?
A: I joined ONES for a year and a half, and I am a fresh graduate. From the perspective of the industry, its product form is in line with the trend of digital transformation of enterprises; from the perspective of the company's development, the company has just completed the B round of financing (now has completed the C round of financing), the company is in a rising period, and the growth space is relatively Great; from the overall interview process, it is very professional, including the repeated confirmation of each interview time, the feedback after the interview, and the fluent expression during the interview. I value these details.
Q: How do fresh graduates quickly adapt to the workplace?
A: Our company provides a lot of help and support to newcomers. We have a systematic training process for newcomers. In the beginning, it is full-time product learning (2-4 weeks) - contact the product with your own hands and become familiar with the business process; then in the second stage of assessment - choose a familiar field to conduct research, do an intra-department sharing, and understand each other's functions. role; the last is the three-stage normalization defense - reviewing the work experience and gains during the period of entry, and conducting an effective review. The whole is a progressive and systematic professional training, so you don't have to worry about it.
During the training, we are a tutor system, and you can ask questions at any time. Of course, more is self-learning, there are enough materials, the key is to complete it with a positive and upward attitude.
Q: What is it like to be an engineer at ONES?
A: First, ONES flexible work does not clock in, the process is standardized, and it refuses to work overtime inefficiently. The company itself focuses on the field of R&D management tools and is a practitioner of agile development. We have the best practices in the management process, so engineers rarely rush to work or work overtime. We reject "996" and embrace "1075"!
Second, the technical atmosphere is very good. The company pays attention to the investment in research and development costs, and the proportion of production and research is about 50%. Many members come from companies such as Jinshan, Tencent, Xiaomi, Ali, Byte, and Shopee. After joining the company, there will be 3 weeks of product and technical training. We will hold technical sharing meetings every month to share the current technical achievements, problems and solutions of each team.
Third, ONES' technology has always been in the first echelon. Some companies will have a lot of burdens, such as too old projects, many refactoring pits, difficult technological evolution, compatibility with old browsers, etc., but we do not have heavy historical burdens. In addition, let's talk about some of the technology stacks of ONES: React, Flutter, Go, GraphQL, Kafka, ClickHouse, Kubernetes, etc., plus the standard Mac M1, the experience of writing code and development is great! We will also continue to pay attention to the dynamics of the technical community to create a better development experience. For fresh engineers, there is a lot to learn here.
Q: As an engineer, how to focus on polishing "technical internal skills"?
A: The most important thing is to return to the business and exercise your R&D capabilities. I think whether senior engineers or architects, they all have a strong foundation of research and development capabilities. In their daily work, engineers will receive a variety of product needs. We should face new needs more and understand more about the technology sectors that we have not been exposed to. This is the key to improving our R&D capabilities. When I can do my job well in the business, I will have more time to control the quality and think about some things to improve efficiency.
Also, explore the essence of technology and focus on principle learning. Sometimes we are keen to learn new technologies in the industry, and we want to touch a little bit of everything, but the technical principles behind it are more worthy of our exploration and study. For example, we encountered some performance bottlenecks before. Through investigation, we found that the problems caused by the application of dependent third-party libraries in our business scenarios can be quickly analyzed by being familiar with the principles. Therefore, in many cases, understanding the principles behind the technology can help us troubleshoot problems faster, and looking at the source code can also learn other people's programming ideas. Step by step, read and ponder carefully, the engineer will be near and far.
Q: What changes have you experienced in your career at ONES?
A: ONES has a wealth of career development channels, and has always supported the long-term development of employees, with ample room for advancement. I've been with the company for over four years, and my goal has always been clear - to make sales. But when I first joined the company, I didn’t know what real sales should be like, and what it would be like for girls to do sales. When I joined ONES, my position was telesales; a year later, I started to recruit sales in a large area. I also seized this opportunity and transferred to sales; later, the company's business scope continued to expand. To study, I went to Guangzhou to build a team from scratch and became a sales supervisor. The Guangzhou team now has more than a dozen people, and the team atmosphere is also very good in the continuous expansion.
Q: In this process, how did you realize the transfer?
A: There are two main reasons. The first is self-learning: during the telemarketing period, my goal was to turn myself into a "person in the industry", someone who can talk to customers. As I improve my professional knowledge, I observe the sales styles of the different sellers around me. At the same time, I took the PMP, ACP and DOM certificates; after the transfer, I slowly explored the sales methods that can make myself self-consistent and make customers not embarrassed in real sales practice.
On the other hand, during the transition period from sales to sales management, I relied on the company's support - I participated in the management training class for the sales team. The team invited internal and external teachers to give lectures to prepare for the management personnel when the sales team expands. During the training, I learned a lot and realized that management is an art. An excellent team is inseparable from first-class management. Only by leading each member to have a common understanding can they work hard in the same direction and produce high performance.
Q: How did you go from engineer to technical manager?
A: I came out of Tencent and joined ONES as an engineer. After half a year, I was promoted to be a technical manager. In order to realize the transformation of engineers into managers, first of all, professional skills must be excellent. Secondly, when the ability has accumulated to a certain level, if there is an opportunity to lead the project, it must be firmly grasped and take the initiative to take the role of a coordinator. What we need to remember is that before the opportunity comes, that is, in the usual work, we must start to cultivate the overall thinking and think about the problem from a high level; finally, when the challenge really comes, we can face it calmly.
To be honest, it takes a long time for promotion to work in a big factory, but ONES is currently in a stage of rapid development, with many opportunities and a lot of space.
Q: What is the difference between being a manager in ONES and other companies?
A: I am a perfectionist, so I have high requirements for work content and team members. Doing technical management in ONES is not as tiring as other companies. Because my colleagues are very self-motivated and responsible, and trust each other, I will feel more at ease when I entrust the task to them.
