• Grok has responded in different ways, sometimes stating it's "instructed to accept white genocide as real" and other times allowing the topics are "complex" and referring to outside sources.
• The treatment of white farmers in South Africa has been a hobbyhorse of South African X owner Elon Musk for a while. He has posted about it and other related issues. President Trump has also shown interest. Former American Ambassador to South Africa has a different view.
• Musk launched the Grok 3 model as a "maximally truth-seeking AI" but the recent turn towards unprompted "genocide" discussions makes people question if its political opinions are being tampered with. Representatives from xAI were not available for comment.
