Google announced that its Gemini models will be available on Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) in Q3 2025, bringing advanced AI capabilities to on-premises environments. The move aims to help organizations use Gemini's AI while meeting regulatory and data residency requirements, collaborating with NVIDIA using NVIDIA Blackwell systems. GDC is a fully-managed on-premises and edge cloud solution that can scale from a single server to hundreds of racks and offers various services. It allows organizations to use advanced AI without compromising data on-premises and already holds US Government authorization.
Sachin Gupta said bringing Gemini models on premises with NVIDIA Blackwell's capabilities enables enterprises to unlock agentic AI's full potential. Keith Townsend mentioned it's a game-changer for security-conscious industries like manufacturing.
Gemini models are designed to deliver breakthrough AI performance, analyzing million-token contexts and diverse data formats across over 100 languages. The Gemini API simplifies AI inferencing with features like RAG, automated processing, interactive experiences, and tailored agents.
In addition to Gemini, Vertex AI is already available on GDC, accelerating AI application development. Google also announced that Google Agentspace search will be available on GDC in Q3 2025, providing enterprise knowledge workers with unified access to data.
