- Over a year since last update. Last year was tough but the site is back on track and now has a new feature.
“More info” pages for many blogs now have a new section showing their most linked-to domains as a chart.
- Screenshots of four such charts are provided.
- The blogs they are from are: [kottke.org] (interesting things), [Green Caltrain] (California commuter trains), [Conservative Home] (UK right-leaning politics), and [Permanent Style] (British menswear).
- This feature only works for blogs with full post content in their feed. And if a blog hasn't linked to enough other sites, there won't be enough data for a meaningful chart.
- The author has considered filtering some domains out like [blogger.googleusercontent.com] as it's often used for hosting images and not very useful. Also, domains like
twitter.com
andt.co
could be grouped together. But for now, all domains are included with only aggregation of domains with and without leadingwww.
subdomains. The 20 most linked-to domains across all blogs in the directory are listed:
- blogger.googleusercontent.com (248,084)
- feeds.feedblitz.com (75,233)
- en.wikipedia.org (69,103)
- twitter.com (63,108)
- youtube.com (48,422)
- instagram.com (35,568)
- flickr.com (30,509)
- meetup.com (27,160)
- addtoany.com (24,566)
- github.com (23,779)
- amazon.com (23,486)
- i0.wp.com (21,272)
- reactormag.com (17,787)
- facebook.com (16,283)
- t.co (15,075)
- theguardian.com (15,051)
- youtu.be (14,201)
- bookshop.org (13,488)
- forums.macrumors.com (13,469)
- amzn.to (12,828)
- Site-wide charts like this will be skewed by the most active blogs. There may be more tweaks to do.
