• Survey Details: Conducted from December 2024 to January 2025, the State of React Native 2024 Survey gathered insights from about 3,500 React Native developers. Curated by Software Mansion software engineer Bartłomiej Bukowski.
• Areas Covered: Over 15 distinct areas like used APIs, libraries, state management, etc.
• Demographics: Around 30% have been developers for over 10 years, 96% male from over 20 countries. Over 80% work in teams of up to 5 developers, targeting iOS and Android across various industries. Nearly 50% have top app with fewer than 1,000 users, 37% with over 10,000 users and 50% have released 5 or more apps.
• Most Used APIs: Camera API, Notifications, Permissions, Deep Linking etc. Among them, Notifications, Deep Linking and Permissions also rank among top pain points.
• State Management: Redux received most negative feedback (about 18% dissatisfaction). React's built-in state management was liked by 31% and Zustand by 21%. Zustand is the rising go-to modern state management library with a simple developer experience. Context API is still popular for small apps.
• Automated Solutions: 71% of respondents use Expo's EAS Build. Manual methods like Xcode and Android Studio are less prevalent but still used by 59.7% and 54.5% respectively.
