Gemini 2.5 Pro Experimental is claimed to be the "most intelligent" model with a massive context window, multimodality, and reasoning capabilities. It shows improvement over other large language models in benchmarks and our testing.
• Reasoning Built-in: Like all Google's models, Gemini 2.5 has built-in reasoning. It fact-checks itself during output generation, called "simulated reasoning" although not proven to be like human reasoning. It benefits agentic coding capabilities, like generating a full working video game from a single prompt.
• Technical Upsides: Gemini 2.5 Pro has a 1 million token context window, larger than competitors. It scores higher than other AI systems in benchmarks like GPQA and AIME 2025, and sets a new record in Humanity’s Last Exam. But the effectiveness of objective measurement of AI capabilities is unclear; subjective assessment can also be helpful.
• Instant Upgrade Experience: Using Gemini 2.5 Pro Experimental gives good vibes. It handles complex tasks better than previous Gemini 2.0 models, and coding, math, and science questions perform better. It is also very fast with a ton of AI compute, and the context window will soon be increased to 2 million tokens.
• Model Availability and Pricing: Gemini 2.5 Pro is a drop-in replacement for 2.0 and available across Google's products with a Gemini Advanced subscription. The API pricing for 2.5 Pro Experimental has not been announced yet. Google has set a 50-message daily limit and it is free for now, but there will be changes later.
