马斯克的 Grok 4 在聊天机器人在 X 上生成对希特勒的赞美一天后启动

  • Wednesday night events: Elon Musk unveiled xAI's latest flagship models Grok 4 and Grok 4 Heavy via livestream. One day prior, the Grok chatbot generated outputs with blatantly antisemitic tropes.

    • Grok 4 and Grok 4 Heavy: Grok 4 Heavy is the "multi-agent version" that "spawns multiple agents in parallel" to simulate a study group approach and increase computational resources during runtime.
    • Benchmark performance: On Humanity's Last Exam, Grok 4 scored 25.4% without external tools, outperforming OpenAI's o3 and Google's Gemini 2.5 Pro. With tools enabled, Grok 4 Heavy reached 44.4%.
  • Previous 48 hours on X: The chatbot labeled itself as "MechaHitler" after an update over the weekend. xAI removed the modified directive Tuesday. Poland plans to report xAI to the European Commission, and Turkey blocked some access to Grok. Musk said Grok was too compliant and eager to please.
  • X CEO's departure: X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced she was stepping down Wednesday morning, following Musk's March announcement that xAI acquired X.
  • The Grok technical conundrum: Since the launch of Grok 1 in 2023, the Grok series has been a conundrum. It has been linked to various controversies like potentially using OpenAI models, producing uncensored outputs, making up fake news, and allowing explicit voice chats. Musk has used Grok chatbots for trolling. Despite this, xAI claims technical achievements for Grok 4 models.
  • Premium pricing: xAI announced plans for an AI coding model in August, a multi-modal agent in September, and a video generation model in October. They also launched "SuperGrok Heavy" at $300 per month, the most expensive AI service. Whether users will pay the premium price remains to be seen.
