首届 MCP 开发者峰会描绘了人工智能集成的未来

  • Event: In May 2025, developers and contributors of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) held their first developer summit.
  • Focus: Discussions focused on the MCP roadmap including enhanced security, observability and scalability. Attendees shared adoption stories and best practices.
  • Introduction: MCP was introduced by Anthropic In November 2024. It's an open standard to help frontier LLMs produce better responses by integrating and sharing data. Major players like OpenAI, Microsoft and Google have announced their adoption.
  • Summit Keynote: David Parra, a co-creator of MCP and member of technical staff at Anthropic, delivered the summit’s keynote, outlining the protocol's core primitives and emphasizing next steps.
  • Core Primitives: MCP has three core primitives - prompts (predefined templates for adding context and guiding workflows), resources (providing data as context), and tools (representing specific actions like querying databases).
  • Interaction Model: Outlines different ways of interacting with an MCP server with prompts user-driven, resources application-driven, and tools model-driven.
  • Current Status and Future: Despite rapid adoption with over 10,000 community-developed MCP servers and clients, most are locally deployed. For ubiquity, critical capabilities like access control and scaling need to be built. Access control will enable secure authentication, and effective scaling will be achieved through a streamable HTTP approach. Founders and contributors are developing the next version with enhanced agentic behavior, improved discoverability through an official registry API, and developing official Ruby and Go SDKs.
