- Purchase and Background: Missed the 2022 Kickstarter for the "Wireless Tank Mouse" and bought one from Sordan.ie to use with Commodore and MEGA65 machines.
- Packaging: Very attractive with an 80's neon VHS style design on the front and specs on the sides and back.
- Appearance and Features: Looks similar to the Amiga tank mouse with two main differences - an optical sensor instead of a ball and full wireless connectivity using Bluetooth or 2.4Ghz, with a 3-way switch to choose and power off.
- Tom Adapter: An optional extra that converts USB signals to what old Commodore computers can understand. Compact and housed in a 3D printed case.
- Battery Compartment: Reveals a small USB receiver at the bottom that can be plugged directly into modern computers or paired with Bluetooth.
- Usage with Different Machines: Worked immediately and flawlessly in Windows 11 PC and MorphOS Apple Mac Mini G4. With Commodore machines, plugged the Tom adapter into port 1 and it worked without software installation. Worked well with MEGA65 and GEOS65. Had issues with real C64C computer but could be switched to C64 mode by following specific steps.
- Thoughts: A fantastic product that works with a wide range of machines, but the method of switching modes on the Tom adapter is a bit cumbersome. Overall, a great addition that combines nostalgia and modernity.
