特斯拉的新型“Powerwall”家用电池,10kWh 单元的价格将为 3500 美元[已更新]

  • Products and features: CEO Elon Musk announced Tesla's latest products - a line of stationary batteries. The home stationary battery is called Powerwall, with a 10kWh unit costing $3,500 and a 7kWh version at $3,000. It can be wall-mounted indoors or outdoors, weighs 220 pounds, and has a 10-year guarantee with integrated management software. It comes with a DC to DC converter and may have a DC to AC inverter if there's solar. It has a thermal management system and can operate in a wide temperature range (-20C to 43C).
  • Installation and options: Prices don't include installation. Tesla will work with certified installers. Leasing the battery is an option, and the price is without incentives from local, state, or federal governments.
  • Pre-order and delivery: Powerwall units are available for pre-order now and will start delivering later this summer. More batteries will be available as "phase one of the gigafactory" comes online next year.
  • Target customers and competition: The batteries are targeted at households and utilities. Musk refuted the criticism that home batteries are not as space-constrained as car batteries and that lithium-ion batteries are not cost-effective when space is not an issue. Tesla's move could scare traditional power utilities.
  • Business implications: All battery devices will be branded as "Tesla Energy" products, separate from Tesla Motors. Tesla has a partner in SolarCity and is building a $5 billion gigafactory in Reno, Nevada. Musk's vision is for a battery-powered future that is not limited to Tesla and involves open sourcing of patents. At the end of the event, it was shown that the night was powered by batteries charged by solar panels on the roof.
