HBO Now is finally live after years of speculation and months of planning. It offers a 30-day free trial and costs $14.99 per month without a cable subscription. Currently available on Apple's second- and third-generation Apple TV hardware and Cablevision's Optimum Internet service in certain areas. The launch was expected before the fifth season of "Game of Thrones" premiered, and Apple is an exclusive carrier at first. Dish Network's Sling TV will also offer a standalone HBO version for $15 per month with a repackaged live TV channel and on-demand library access. HBO has promised more subscribing avenues in the coming months. With HBO Now on Apple TV, subscribers can stream to up to three Apple devices at once and it's similar to HBO GO in terms of simultaneous video play. You can download the free HBO Now app from the App Store to get started.
