Peter Naur Introduction:
- Born 1928, Danish scientist with mag. scient. in astronomy in 1949 and dr. phil. in 1957.
- Worked at Københavns Universitets Astronomiske Observatorium from 1953-59, then at Regnecentralen and lectured at Danmarks Tekniske Højskole and Niels Bohr Institute from 1959-69, and was professor of Datalogi at Københavns Universitet from 1969-98. Awarded IEEE Computer Society Computer Pioneer Medal in 1986 and ACM A. M. Turing Award in 2005.
ACM Turing Award 2005:
- Naur won the 2005 Turing-award (also known as the "Nobel-prize of computing science").
