LibreOffice 4.1 已发布,从 OpenOffice 借用了新的侧边栏。

  • Release details: LibreOffice 4.1 was released today. It borrowed a new sidebar from OpenOffice. The sidebar was debuted in OpenOffice 4.0 by IBM developers and is currently an experimental feature in LibreOffice that can be enabled in settings.
  • Feature import: LibreOffice 4.1 is importing some features from Apache OpenOffice, like the Symphony sidebar. LibreOffice developers are working on integrating it with the widget layout technique for dynamic resizing and consistency with dialog windows.
  • Early delivery: It was delivered a few days earlier than planned on the release schedule. 3,000 bugs were fixed, including 400 by Apache.org developers. Many Apache developers are contributing to LibreOffice.
  • Other improvements: It brings the ability to rotate images 90 degrees in Writer, embed fonts in documents, an easier way to create slideshows in Impress, and various improvements to interoperability with Microsoft Office files. Numerous improvements were made to Microsoft OOXML import and export filters and legacy file filters, with many deriving from certified developers' work based on a professional support agreement. Font embedding in various components helps retain the visual aspect when the used fonts are not installed on the target PC, and new import and export functions for Excel 2013 enhance ODF OpenFormula compatibility.
