• Award: Ars handed out awards for six categories of notable Mac OS X software this week.
• Best Mac OS X App for Education: The winner was Papers by Mekentosj.
• Target Audience: Papers is largely targeted at the scientific and education community.
• Future Focus: Mekentosj plans to continue focusing on the Mac as long as their target audience remains there. Apple focuses on iOS but there will still be space for the Mac.
• WWDC and Mobile Space: Alex didn't come to WWDC with the team due to Apple's focus on iOS, but they believe the Mac and mobile space will come back together.
• iOS Success: Mekentosj has a popular iPhone version and an even more popular iPad version. The iPad app is a better fit for reading scientific papers.
• Papers 2 for Mac: The team is working on Papers 2 for the Mac and it is coming along well and will be available soon.
