Products and Downloads: MapPoint 2010 is released in three flavors (North America, North America with GPS Locator, Europe). A trial version of MapPoint North America 2010 (1407.6MB) is found on the Microsoft Download Center. Streets & Trips 2010 is also released in two flavors ($40 and $70) with a 60-day trial edition (1360.4MB).
New in MapPoint 2010:
- Customized Map Settings: Choose what to show on the map, control map look and feel, and hide/turn on/off various elements.
- More Pushpins: Get all previous pushpin images.
- Refreshed Data: Use updated geographic data.
- Navigation and Sharing: Create routes, share with others, and send to navigation device (requires MSN Direct subscription).
- The Road Warrior's Copilot: Plan trip on PC and print/send to GPS.
- Easy to Reroute: Drag-and-drop to reroute.
- Show in Bing Maps: Find listings and add to route.
- Manage Pushpins: Hide/show groups or all pushpin clouds.
- Export to GPX: Bundle trip information.
Product Overview: MapPoint is a desktop business mapping and analysis tool. Streets & Trips is a cheaper, consumer-oriented trip-planning product. MapPoint 2009 arrived in September 2008 and Streets & Trips in October 2008. There is no Australian version for 2010 and Microsoft started asking for user input in March 2009.
