Release Information: In September 2008, Microsoft Research released version 1.0 of AutoCollage 2008. It's a program that creates collages from images in a folder using natural features as boundaries. - Network folder support, enabling users to select a network folder as the root for the AutoCollage image browser.
- Custom output sizes, defined in inches, pixels, or centimeters, with a maximum output size of 48"x48" and up to 50 images included.
Requirements: Requires.NET framework 3.0 or later and works on Vista and Windows XP SP2+.
Pricing: The full version costs £18.00 in the UK (purchasable from any EU country) and $19.95 in the US (but $14.95 at publishing time). It is noted that the collage feature in Windows Live Photo Gallery (free) is good for likely collage-needing scenarios, and the justification for AutoCollage 2008's price tag is questioned due to its complicated algorithm.
