- “Mojave Experiment” Overview: A marketing idea by Microsoft two weeks ago with a simple message. In three days in San Francisco, 120 users of different OSs were shown an HP Pavilion DV 2000 with 2GB RAM running a "new" Windows codenamed "Mojave". Over 90% were impressed and then told they were actually using Windows Vista.
- Website and Ads: Earlier this week, Microsoft launched the "[Mojave Experiment]" website with 55 short clips of users' reactions to Windows Vista. It also includes links promoting Vista's features and a message saying "The Experiment will continue. Stay tuned." Ads promoting the experiment have been released. These ads are not part of the new marketing campaign to tell the "[real Vista story]" but hint at the company's approach. The ads are not served on exclusive Microsoft advertising sites and use Flash instead of Silverlight.
