Come and join our Distinguished Lecture Program organized by Hong Kong Society of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (HKSAIR), co-organized by HKUST Big Data Institute (BDI) and Clustar Technology Co., Ltd. Our first lecture will be hosted on July 11th by Prof. Qiang Yang, Founding President of HKSAIR. This time we are pleased to invite two guest speakers Prof. Tong Zhang, Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics, and Prof. Li Deng, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer of Citadel, to share their knowledge on deep learning as well as current trends and challenges of AI and its applications in industry.

HKSAIR大师讲坛由香港人工智能与机器人学会主办，香港科技大学大数据研究所（BDI）和瀚海星云科技有限公司（星云Clustar）联合协办。首次活动将在7月11日举办，由香港人工智能与机器人学会理事长杨强教授主持，并很荣幸地邀请到香港科技大学的张潼教授和Citadel首席人工智能官邓力，两位嘉宾将为我们分享在深度学习方面的知识，以及人工智能及其在行业应用中的当前趋势和挑战。

Tong Zhang is a professor of Computer Science and Mathematics at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He worked for IBM, Yahoo, Baidu, and Tencent. His research interests include machine learning algorithms and theory, statistical methods for big data and their applications. He is a Fellow of ASA and IMS. He has been in the editorial boards of leading machine learning journals and program committees of top machine learning conferences.

张潼是香港科技大学计算机科学与数学系教授。他曾在IBM，雅虎，百度和腾讯工作。 他的研究方向涵盖机器学习算法和理论、大数据的统计方法及其应用。他还是美国统计学会和国际数理统计学会的Fellow，并曾在领先的机器学习期刊的编辑委员会和顶级机器学习会议的项目委员会任职。

Li Deng is elected to be a Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering of Canada in April 2019. He has been the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer of Citadel since May 2017. Prior to Citadel, he was the Chief Scientist of Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft. His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, information retrieval, multimedia signal processing, speech processing and recognition, and human language technology. He is also a Fellow of the IEEE, ASA and ISCA.

邓力于2019年4月当选为加拿大国家工程院院士。从2017年5月起担任对冲基金巨头Citadel的首席人工智能官，此前他是微软的人工智能首席科学家。他的研究方向涵盖人工智能，机器学习，信息检索，多媒体信号处理，语音处理和识别以及人类语言技术。他亦是IEEE，美国声学学会和国际语音通信协会的Fellow。
